Would your system be different if ............?
I similar to Rives.I have a great room, great system AND a great wife. Richard
What's the size of your listening room and/or ht?
In answer to Blw:I live in SF, but have a great wife that "lets" me have the biggest room in the house for my hobby. She even had to move her office into the dining room when our child got old enough to need his own room. Also, if I had your room I...
Stones on SACD - Tempting?
Hopefully those record companies are listening.I AGREE!Richard
To bridge or not to bridge....
I disagree with Markanetz's general statement concerning monoblocks being better than bridged. Different brands act differently. Although not knowlegable about Bryston, when you bridge them, they kind of become monoblocks. I personally am familiar...
Used tube dac under 1000.00 -Please advise.
A great value on the used market is the Krell Studio. Driven by an excellent transport, it is hard to beat without spending many times the price. IMHORichard
What's the size of your listening room and/or ht?
My room is 15DX25WX8H, and it is fabulous. I got lucky. When I ploted the graph recommended by Robert Harley in his book; it was obvious why, there are almost no reinforcements of any of the frequencies from 20-20K. Also since my speakers have the...
Why upgrade transport???
I agree with Tireguy. The transport is the most important part of the digital equation.I use to have a Rotel player; I upgraded to a Krell D to A, but heard little difference; then I upgraded the transport to the big EAD, and WOW, what a difference...
Biwiring: can you really hear the difference?
YES!!!!!!!!Richard
Best or most profound sleeper product
EAD T-7000 LD/CD transport with AT&T to drive a good D to A.With almost no jitter this transport will rival the best of them.Richard
Power Cord Lenght ? Better shorter or longer?
I am about to buy Pure Note power cable for my Krell equipment and they told me that length DOESN'T matter, so I'm going with the 3-ft length. The answer may be cable dependant.Richard
Big Difference With New Source?
I agree with Rbirke.I have found that improvements in the analog end to have much more "bang for the buck" than in the digital end. I would probably leave your CD playback until last.I don't necessarily agree with the order of Rbirke. I would put ...
Best SPKR'S and cables for Krell Amps?
B&W -- The bigger, the better.B&W used Krell amps to voice their speakers. And, since 80% of classical music is mastered on B&W speakers, you are most likely to get closest to the life performance.RichardP.S. I am biased. I own both.
1 channel Krell FPB-200
I agree with Sfstereo. You might also consider selling the one FBP200 and getting the 300 or 600. You will be loosing the advantages of the monoblocks but will be getting smoother sounding amps. Sfstereo, what do you think?Richard (in SF)
Bi Amping... worth it?
Treyhoss:Call the Cable Company (www.fatwyre.com) and talk or e-mail Bob. He, I am sure, can custom make a Y-connector of the same cable as you now use.Richard (who actively bi-amps)
Bi Amping... worth it?
I can't imagine wanting a Krell with only 20 watts per channel. I think the gain of all Krell amps is 26 or 27db, regardless of size.Richard
