Favorite Dylan? Westerberg is pretty legendary, too. Not as good a guitar player as Prince, but a hell of a song writer.
Takes one to know one All of the good info (and subjective analysis) on this thread has got me digging through my vinyl this weekend. I have no Band stuff on CD and Youtube ain't cutting it.I found Stage Fright, Cahoots, Big Pink and Rock of Ages, but no BROWN ONE! I t...
Takes one to know one The Band was a great band. They should have had a better name, though.Since I was in South America, I heard the first two LPs out of order. I heard the brown one first, and it blew me away. I had heard of Big Pink, read about it somewhere, but ne...
Quincy Jones Interview I'm not a big QJ fan, but he did some interesting things over the years. Check out "In The Heat of the Night" soundtrack, with Ray Charles. But he's wrong about the Beatles. Even drunk, I would never say such a thing. That stuff is hard to play we...
LP boxed sets - best storage I use cigar boxes, which don't fill the entire gap, but keep the LPs pretty straight vertically. Looks better than cardboard. But you have to shuffle things around as your collection grows.

Cell Phones & Tube Amps I think it was a polarity issue. It didn't hurt the amps, but it sure shut down the phone. These are old amps, Leak TL12+ monoblocks and one plugs into the other. None of the plugs are polarized.I think flipping the plug on the charger fixed it, b...
Quincy Jones Interview I thought he sounded a little senile in this interview, but you have to appreciate his brutal honesty. I didn't much care for the Beatles earler hits like "Do you want to know a secret" and "I want to hold your hand", but once I heard them cover "...
Cell Phones & Tube Amps I'm not sure I understand your comment. Are you saying that the cell is not a good enough source?
Cell Phones & Tube Amps I can't seem to edit that title. The ampersand is messing it up.
Multiple copies of the same album? I try not to buy on CD what I already have on vinyl, but there are some exceptions. Beatles, Stones and Mingus come to mind. I also have multiple vinyl copies of Hendrix, some still sealed, to be opened only on special occasions...Like a new turn... |
