Why do digital coax cables matter?
Surprised nobody has mentioned the SPDIF clock which is an analog RF waveform (if I'm not mistaken) that must stay in sync with the data. Not sure if AES/EBU any better in that regard, but it is supposed to be easier to guarantee impedance match (1...
Drivers for Paragon Acounstic JEM
I should add that the drivers themselves are 8 ohm, and 4 ohm version (new, with rubber surround) are available. The speaker designer must have added resistors to bring the impedence up or reduce woofer excursion. Maybe I should just buy the refoa...

And Yes, they are 24W 100 with 3 ohm resistor in series.

Are these woofers still available?I've had the Paragons for 14 years and never dreamed of replacing them, but the woofers' surrounds are torn.

Don't fool around - send your cables back to Cardas. Unfortunately that is enamel coated litz wire - good luck soldering it!
McCormack DNA 500 vs DNA 225 upgraded
Steve,Is there a balanced transformer upgrade for the DNA 750 as well, or is this a true balanced amp design? Thanks for your feedback,Stefan
McCormack DNA-750
Are these fully balanced amps or, like the DNA-500, only a difference circuit on the input?
McCormack DNA-750 Mono-Blocks?

Classe XLR balanced inputs??
You owe it to yourself and Classe to use balanced with those amps. I used to have the CA-201 and it is (one of the few) TRUE balanced speed demon!
Upgrading from Van Den Hul D102 MK III
Since you like the VdH sound, try The First on your source or The Second depending on your application.
Power Cable Choices for Pre, Power Amps
I use the AudioAsylum DIY "crump" cord on my Line 3. In fact I use them throughout my system and I've heard none better. But I also use a Sim Audio LF-A and Audioprism Power Foundation II.
Should power cords have filters on them?
I mean IEC SOCKETS on the amps, not the cords. Talk to Classe, I think they are a mod-friendly company. They used to make aftermarket cords too.
Should power cords have filters on them?
If you decide you need filtering, change the IEC connectors on your amps for filtered ones. Get them from an electronics parts place and make sure they are rated for current required by the amp. Then you just need shielded power cords with quality...
