What is the most analytical sounding amplifier that you have heard? It is not productive to attempt to address "analytical" without also discussing tonality. It's properly a system issue, and not just a component issue. Imo, it seems "analytical" is more properly applied to listeners, and "complex" applied to equi...
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc. Reubent, ah, one of my generation; good job! I suspect you get my intent; it's a big "put on" by all these people who want to make a big impression about what they can hear, about how break in/burn in is SO important, and how it makes SUCH a big d...
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc. It's an eminence front.
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc. It matters not whether the individual is an industry member or not. Their assessment of change of the sound of a system over time is pretty well worthless. The longer the time period, the less worth to their opinion of the change to the system. :)
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc. bluemoodriver, thank you! I seem to occupy a position in the industry and community that is fairly vacant, that of eschewing most forms of system enhancements/methods called "tweaks", and endorsing other methods that some ridicule. It all comes ou...
Are warm or colored speakers disrespectful of musicians/producer/engineers? I feel badly for m669326 on this thread. I think he actually had a pretty good topic for discussion, a LOT better than many of the ridiculous threads that are started here! I think he has been misinformed in regards to "warm" vs. "detailed" speake...
HELP! Large speakers fell over during shipping. Based on the time signature, likely midostyn was typing the response concurrent to millercarbon's post. A truly rude reply by millercarbon. I suggest he pull back and scrutinize his behavior on this forum, as it has been consistently snarky. :(
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc. oldhvymec, wonderful, you have made your point. Now, I presume you will be silent, unless you have something pertinent to the article to discuss.
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc. Perhaps a case of mistaken identity. I do not know the man, but several times have been mistaken for Doug Schneider, who is also a reviewer. Not sure of pertinency to your situation.
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc. DeKay, nope, not me. I don’t smoke, have never touched a Vantage Audio product, and have nothing to do with beta products and the public. :) Seems an awful experience!
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc. I addressed "break in" and "burn in" in the article as it pertains to the phenomena under assessment.
Magic returns in seldom used bookshelves? Keep swapping them, without regard to "break in", and learn.
DAC/w Volume control + Power amp or DAC + Integrated? As usual, the answers given here are wrong. They are wrong because no one can tell you which combination of gear will work best given the wide range of available DACs (dedicated or integrated), preamps (passive or active), amps (integrated or dedi...
Here is all my gear. What's the best combo? Why is it that I suspect you really do not want advice, but are testing the community, as though there is some prize for selecting the combo that you think is best. I'm not interested in playing that game; it's a waste of my time. Imo, if you were...
Doubling a Set of Speaker Cables For clarification, the Schroeder Method of IC Placement is, as named, for interconnects. However, I also do advocate trying double/parallel speaker cables for speakers having only one set of posts. Going with heavier AWG has almost always resulted... |
