Thoughts and experiences on the Spendor SP100 R2
Thank you both, very useful to me. So, SP100R2 won't bring additional bass slam, just extension, right? I've heard the Classic 100 but I think the positioning in the room was unfortunate or maybe it was simply a bad room as the bass extension suff...
Thoughts and experiences on the Spendor SP100 R2
How about a comparison to their lesser siblings? I hope this will not feel like derailing the thread. I'm thinking about upgrading from the SP2/3R2, which I love, to the SP100R2, but I couldn't find a single comparison between them. Should I expec...
Warm romantic & detailed
@ jjss491 : wow! You have 9 pairs of speakers, 8 of which are interesting to me! Could you please share what models of Spendor, Harbeth and Proac do you own? I own a pair of Spendor Sp2/3R2, some Harbeth M30.2 Anniversary and I'm considering some...
Spendor Classic 1/2
Well, not much interest shown so I'll be short. They are amazing. The acoustic instruments are incredibly realistic - great tone and timbre. Piano is great, violin is great, acoustic guitar is astonishing. Very musical and inviting midrange. Low e...
Electrostatic Speakers
Hi @joeldi! What are you driving your Impression 11's with?
Best Speaker for classical music
I've heard some Sonus Faber Amati Futura with expensive Accuphase and Luxman gear and they were excellent for orchestral music. The midrange in particular was stupendous in terms of natural timbres and realism.
Spendor Classic 1/2
I've just bought a used pair of Spendor SP2/3R2 - the model that charmed me a couple of years ago. Actually, they might be the very same speakers I auditioned! Tomorrow I'll get to hear them again - can't wait! I'll post impressions if anyone is i...
Spendor Classic 1/2
My comments on Classic 100 and A7, recently posted in another thread: I’ve recently had the chance to listen to a pair of Classic 100 paired with some lower end Naim gear but also with my own Audio Analogue Maestro Anniversary integrated amplifi...
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
@prof : I see what you mean regarding the D7 tweeter, I didn't like it very much either but it could very well have been the cables, the insufficient burn in etc. What surprised me was the fact that you did like the D9 - and they have the same twe...
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
@prof : Hello, sir! First of all, thank you for the precious information you are sharing with the rest of us here, I find it really helpful especially considering the fact that your priorities (tone and timbre) match mine very well. I was wonderi...
Rockna Wavelight thoughts?
I'm highly interested in both the Audiobyte Hydra Zap and the Rockna Wavelight dacs, so please guys (those of you in the position to do that) do share your impressions in as much detail as it is comfortable for you. Tone, timbre, frequency extens...
Sonnet Audio Morpheus
Thanks!
Sonnet Audio Morpheus
Congratulations for your purchase! Please write a detailed report once you've burned it in and got to know it better. I'm especially interested in the presence / absence / degree of the HF roll off that is typical for the NOS dacs and  the soundst...
Martin Logan Classic 9 vs. Impression 11A - sound impressions and burn in question
You're a very convincing person, I'll give you that :). Happy purchasing and thanks again!
Martin Logan Classic 9 vs. Impression 11A - sound impressions and burn in question
This is extremely useful, thank you so much! Before this audition I would have never guessed the Classic 9's panel would be any different to it's larger siblings from a tonality point of view, but you are totally confirming what I was hearing. Wha...
