He was touring with Redman last year as well, and I had the chance to see them at the Montreal Jazz Fest (highly recommended) but only had two nights and had tickets to see Milton Nascimento which is my favorite Brazilian musician. I saw Milton se...
Which Harbeth?
Willfan89. Considering you've been posting on this forum for 9 years, I'm sure you've listened to and like Harbeth's. Your room would work nicely with the C7's. I use the Skylan stands which I like, and I've also heard good things about Sound Anch...
Which Harbeth?
I have the same size room with C7ES3's and they're perfect for my room. I wouldn't go any smaller unless as Chashas1 said, you listen nearfield.

Sounds like great information. I pulled the trigger on 'Live at Marciac' right after I posted this thread and it arrived today. Unfortunately I'm on-call and busy so I might wait until Friday night to spin it. I'll be pursuing 'The Art of the Trio...
Anyone know anything about this unit?
Does he have any of their speakers he could give you? I've read reviews. These guys were responsible for the B&W Nautilus design, that huge funky snail like speaker. You might be able to find some info on thier web site or contact them for lit...
Best headphones under $200 used?
I would highly recommend that once you figure out what you want, you check B&H Photo's web site for pricing. I picked up AKGK702's for next to nothing. They specialize in not only photography but also recording studio gear so they carry a lot ...
Wow, everything posted for sale is ''light use''??
I will not consider gear if a picture is not posted with the add. I also want to see the original specs in the body of the add so I don't have to go searching all over the place to find them. I'm not sure why anyone thinks I would spend $5000 on s...
audiophile rockers
The Grateful Dead's 'Wall of Sound' was forty eight 300-watt per channel McIntosh model MC 2300's. Bob Weir still prefers it on stage and at home.
Getting started w/ tube equipment
Is there a high end shop in your area? If so, set up an appointment. Listening and hands on is the best way to introduce yourself and your local dealer is probably the only way to accomplish this. If you mention what state you live in, people migh...
Reflections of another year in Audio
This past September, my 2 year old Rotel CDP stopped working on a Friday night. I contacted Rotel and they agreed to repair it under warranty. I didn't have a spare and my OCD kicked in so I went to my local dealer to listen to some CD players. I ...
How to clean speaker grilles
Secure a Swiffer cloth to your vacuum attachment and go over the grill with that from the front side. The vacuum will be able to draw through the cloth and the dirt will attach to the cloth. This will also prevent tearing the cloth with sharp plas...
Isolation pads for the speaker stands
I had the same problem. My stands now have the little clear dots that are used for cabinet doors to keep them from the wood door coming in contact with the wood face of the cabinet(three on each corner). It didn't matter where I moved the stands e...
Expensive amp or cheap classdaudio?
I read a review of the STI-500 and the reviewer bought the amp he liked it so much. Actually, most of the reviews of Wyred 4 Sound amps are stellar. My local shop is a dealer (The Analog Shop in Victor NY) and I might have to go for a listen.
How long it take before your system/amps sound
I turn my tube integrated and CDP/DAC on and set the kitchen timer for 25 minutes and that's when I begin listening. It sounds best after an hour. My CDP requires this warm up, not just the tube amp. I think leaving your gear on 24/7/365 is nuts b...
Bryston sound 'neutral' ????
I like the Bryston gear, but not with my Harbeth's. The Harbeth's like a little color because they're neutral themselves.
