Where did you go after Harbeth?
Sebastien, you've replaced your gear more than anyone I'm familiar with. I thought about suggesting that you spend a lot of time on your decision but I enjoy following you through your journey to your final destination, if there is one. You've own...
Magnepan Service HORRIBLE???
Isn't all this the sellers responsibility? Was this an Audiogon transaction?
EL34 SE 12wpc for $200 new...anybody tried this?
Looks really nice. Great way to throw together a second system . For that price, I'm not sure you can go wrong.
Faceplates Silver or Black???????
I switched from black to silver about 5 years ago and I'll probably continue on that path. I'm considering a new integrated and black is not a choice from the manufacturer. I actually liked how my old black gear got dusty because then I cleaned it...
Where's the trade off?
I remember when I first brought home my Rogue. Everyone told me to let it warm up first (and I think the manual says that too) but of course my wife and I couldn't wait so about 3 minutes after I turned it on I turned up the volume. It was serious...
Compare Ayre, LFD, Luxman integrateds?
So let's compare these amps. There's no info. directly comparing these amps, just little snippets about them all over the place. Has anyone compared the three brands?
Does Harbeth M30.1 Sound More Open That Its Predec
I would hold off until some reviews start to surface. Harbeth doesn't make superficial changes to their speakers so I'd imagine there's a substantial difference. Reviews are going to compare the two which will be a nice read to say the least.
Where's the trade off?
On another note. I had new Rotel separates before the Rogue, the best they make right now. These were the top of the line Rotel amp / pre-amp combo. It was the most shrill sounding gear I've ever herd in my life. AT first I thought I had to break ...
Where's the trade off?
Point well taken Meiwan. I do have dedicated power and even a cryoed outlet ( I was going through the freak phase ). What I need to do is get a chance to listen to some of the options out there and up until now, I haven't had the chance. The Rogue...
Where's the trade off?
I really appreciate the information on the MF and LFD. I'm going to look into taht. I read a bit about the MF A32 as well as the LFD gear and have heard only good things about them. I'd be curious if anyone has experience with Luxman. I was intere...
Would you trust a local dealer to help you put
I don't think Cmalak lives in a dream world at all. My shop is The Analog Shop in Victor NY. The owner (Bob) prefers you to set up an appointment. If you set up an appointment, he blocks out his calendar for you. Once you walk in the door, he lock...
the Harbeth time has come to my place
I'm running my C7's with Audioquest Rockefeller's and they work well but I'm not so sure I can hear differences between cables. I also have the C7's on Skylan stands. I'd be curious to try them on open stands as Chayro suggested, I'm just not sure...
Would you trust a local dealer to help you put
Yes, I totally trust my local guy. My local shop is the best of the best.
Girlfriends and wifes, how do YOU cope?
My wife enjoys music as much as I do. When I told her Iwanted to check out Acuphase she asked "but we're going to keep the Rogue too right?" Life is good.
Best Rock Album in 2012
I think Jack White's 'Blunderbuss' solo album is the best rock album to come out in years. It's an instant classic and I wouldn't be surprised if it takes home a grammy. As a bonus, it was mastered to near perfection and I've read in several revie...
