Your favorite LP nobody has ever heard of Not my favorite but a very good LP and hard to find....Barbara Keith's self titled debut (and I believe only record). 1970s California singer songwriter working with that era's best studio musicians and a very good quality recording. If you like t...

New Springsteen Box: Opinions? Got to "Darkness" the other day. Not as big a difference (improvement) between this and the British pressing I had but certainly better. I am finding these reissues very enjoyable.
Herron VTPH-2 power cord I'm using Empirical Design power cords throughout my system, including on my VTPH-2. I never compared with the stock cord or any other so this is a pretty useless recommendation--sorry!
New Springsteen Box: Opinions? Getting through these slowly....Listened to "Wild, Innocent" last night. Very impressed. These are a big improvement over my original pressings. So far so good!
Got Static? Thanks for your contributions! The room features hardwood floors with a large area rug--you can see some photos of the room if you click on my virtual system. This comment by Stereo5 has me wondering..."If you think about it, when you build up the...
Upgrade from Harbeth Compact 7 I tried a Rel Stadium with my Compact 7s before selling it to move to the larger Daedalus floorstanders. As good as the REL was, I always felt like I was listening to a subwoofer rather than a coherent sound source. Just my two cents....
New Springsteen Box: Opinions? Listened to "Greetings" all the way through on Wednesday. I'm very pleased--my impressions mirror Jerroot. Less mud, more clarity and separation of instrumental lines, greater detail. I get a much better appreciation for the artistry. Pressing is ...
Upgrade from Harbeth Compact 7 Daedalus Audio DA-1.1AP V2. I just posted on these so am feeling a little "shilly" but I was in the same boat--looking for something with the midrange magic of the Harbeth's AND the ability to project a bigger, more dynamic sound. After a two year...
Devore or Harbeths to replace my ESL63s? The bloke I mentioned goes by "David12".
Devore or Harbeths to replace my ESL63s? You have obviously thought this through carefully and have narrowed the field to two VERY good speakers that nearly hit the mark in every area important to you. I owned the Compact 7's for many years and enjoyed them greatly. I've heard just about...
New Springsteen Box: Opinions? Got it yesterday at Princeton Record Exchange. Thanks for chiming in--I'll do the same after a listen.
Esoteric X-03se vs K-03 I can't offer any assistance but will follow the thread as I have pondered the same question after owning the X-03SE for a number of years now and have wondered what, if anything, the K-03 would do in my system. We seem to have similar tastes so w...
What cables are you running with your ARC gear I've had a variety of ARC equipment over the years and have had good luck with Empirical Design cables. The interconnects are particularly good--very neutral, flexible and harmonically correct. Best of luck!
Old VPI Scout: Cartridge Help I'm using the same table and used several of the 20X series Dynavectors before going with a AT OC9MLII at the suggestion of Keith Herron, who designed my phono stage. Wonderful match for the VPI Scout/JMW9. There is one that just came up for sale ... |
