Anyone Had Extended Listening Experience With MBL?
Rocked my world, prof. Your comments bare heed. Unfortunately, the only time I heard MBL's was at a RMAF and some guy decked in bling was listening to ZZ Top on the all-MBL system. I sensed he had stupid money, so this was allowed to continue too ...
Looking for Better Jitter Reduction in a DAC
Read a report from a JS-2 owner on another thread that the UltraCap LPS-1 beat out his JS-2 in sound quality. Could just buy 2,3 etc of LPS-1 and get a much better switching p/s to feed them all. FWIW.BTW - I plug the two switching power supplies ...
Best universal disc player that has great audio reproduction?
As with any other component (cords/cables make a significant difference). The margin of improvement  (large) will remain the same between the stock Oppo and the MW Oppo or the C5xeMP with the same improved cabling. Owner/fan of SR cables and cords...
Looking for Better Jitter Reduction in a DAC
Hi lowrider, You have it right, the UltraCap LPS-1’s claim to fame is lower (none?) noise passthrough than the competition. I am disappointed to report that it uses a switching power supply as its "energizer". Alex at Uptone claims that the LPS-1 ...
Thiel 7.2 - Classe, Krell or Bryston?
Hi Kevin, Congrats on your new amp. I have used a variety of speaker cables over the years with my Thiels and either Krell or Classe’ amplifiers. Maestro’s were good. The Crescendos were better. SR Tesla Precision Reference, even better. Replaced ...
Looking for Better Jitter Reduction in a DAC
Hi gareneau,Not sure what "Tommy’s DAC DAC" is. I currently have the Exogal Comet Plus. I will report on the ISO Regen/UltraCap LPS-1 combo this weekend. Geoff, the DAC, ISO Regent and UltraCap LPS-1 power supply sit on a Symposium Svelte platform...

Why don't amplifier Companies use high end fuses?
Nice dodge. The point was that designers think about how to design their best sound into a component within a certain price range and given more $$ would choose to spec a better traditional component that they feel more confident in than a fuse.Dave
Why don't amplifier Companies use high end fuses?
So you don’t think a designer ever thinks, "I wish I could spec XXX, but just too pricey"? C’mon. Why are there "SE" editions?Dave
Turntable and Rack vibration control
I bit the bullet and ordered a Symposium Ultra platform for my TNT. Also ordered some springs to place under the Big Rock sand box that the Ultra will be placed on.  Will report back.Dave
Why don't amplifier Companies use high end fuses?
Not sure about the tone, but I think bigkids has the best answer I have yet heard as the designer probably has more experience/confidence with those more traditional investments.Dave

Hi Doug,I would be interested in your observations but I honestly don’t feel good about the resurrection of this thread. Some of the worst ugliness I can recall. And by members that should know better (well, one of them should know better, shadorn...
What Is The Cost Of Amplifier Casework?
Looks like the best of all worlds George. My speakers are 100" out from the rear wall; guess I could build some Perry Mason courtroom-type short walls four feet behind the speakers, open in the middle of course, to improve room loading...Dave
What Is The Cost Of Amplifier Casework?
Hey, wait a minute...the speakers out from the wall thing was my gig. lolCarry on George.Dave
Best universal disc player that has great audio reproduction?
Hi uberwalz,Keep an eye out for used MW 105's. Usually less expensive than the mod itself on an existing player and sellers usually throw in other goodies (tubes, better umbilical cord, etc).Santa may need to talk with his banker if the right deal...
