Outlaw 750 vs Anthem 5 vs B&K 5125 vs Chiro c500
I have a Chiro C-500 driving my center and surrounds, used to use it for all 5 (stereo music) and I think it's wonderful. Not muddy or laid back, but warm and clear. used to use it with a denon avr-3300, but now it's connected to an outlaw 950. Od...
Amp / Pre-Amp Compatibility Issues...
Is this the kind of thing I can check out myself, or should I send it in? I'm fairly handy.
figure this one out...a new pop
OK - i actually tried wiring them together by chassis screw. No change. Someone else suggested a leak in the DC power supply of the processor. My other amp might be protected from such a situation, and the Chiro is not. Possible? If so, how do I s...
figure this one out...a new pop
I tried plugging them into different outlets on different circuits - still popped. Defeated the ground on the chiro - still popped. Will try your test and let you know the results..I also found Fred Pham through a fellow Chiro owner, who apparentl...
Used 3 channel Amp recommendation for 500-600
the acurus can't be described as a 'warm' amp, if that's what you're looking for. i've owned both acurus and chiro amps - still have a chiro c-500 - and find it to be a warm, powerful, detailed amp. the c-300 should be available in your range. com...
preamp w/ cinema bypass / SSP loop for about 1k
still haven't purchased anything...had a baby girl! now looking to find the right pre, or a musical pre-pro, and move the denon to the bedroom. any new suggestions?-dan
Receiver vs Processor
someone explain to me the cons to spending $400 on a receiver and using it as a pre/pro with m separate amps and spending $1000+ on a pre/pro? is it the preamp section? even on higher end receivers that have direct bypass modes? i guess the only w...
Receiver vs Processor
why are some receivers so inexpensive compared to pre/pro's with the same features? with receivers so cheap, and the separate pre/pro's so expensive, why don't the receiver manufacturers such as pioneer make a separate component leaving out the am...
Amplification for Denon 3802 for 2-ch listening
mdominick -there is definitely an improvement with the center and rears being driven by the chiro instead of the denon, but for theater, using the denon's amps was more than satisfactory when using only a 2 channel amp for the fronts. if i wasn't ...
Best Concert DVD
sting's brand new day tour sounds amazing, video tops as well.
Amplification for Denon 3802 for 2-ch listening
I found myself in exactly your shoes not so long ago, but with a Denon avr-3300. For improving 2 channel, start by adding a two channel amp to drive your front r and l speakers. In denon's set up menu, you can adjust the levels for each speaker in...
Q? about sub out from my HT processor.
You are safe running the sub from the syb out on a processor - many people (when available) prefer to bypass the subwoofer's crossover availabilities and leave bass management to their processors to avoid cascading crossovers. A good amp would be ...
preamp w/ cinema bypass / SSP loop for about 1k

stuck in a quandry -what's best solely on quality?
how does a home theater pass through work?if my cd player has analog outs, i could run them to a stereo pre-amp and run the digital connection to the receiver....but then how do i get power to the speakers from the receiver through the stratos? ru...
Best used amp for around 500
i ended up buying a used ODL (same as original odyssey stratos - long story, check the web). anyway, i'm having it upgraded and tweaked by klaus, the owner of odyssey. it sounds wonderful, and will sound even better when i get it back. it did hum ...
