Combo Streamer/Headphone Amp
@panzrwagn If you're worried about draining the power of your tablet, you can also look at DAC/amp combos such as the ifi HipDac or Gryphon.  They have their own internal battery. They are not quite as portable as a dongle DAC, but still pretty sm...
Combo Streamer/Headphone Amp
I would not recommend a Node just for headphone listening.  The headphone section of the Node N130 is an afterthought.  The headphone section on the Node X is supposed to be much better, but you'd be paying $750 for a unit where headphone listenin...
Nad M33 or something better
I agree with @mapman. I would look at adding a subwoofer.
Is it worth it? DAC question
The iFi Zen appears to have only a USB input. You can only use it if you have a Node N130 or Node X.
Speaker Cable Recommendation
I will second @dekay's recommendation for the Micca cables.  They're cheap enough to just try and see how they compare to your old cables.  Or they can serve as a placeholder if you want to try other cables. There are a couple of threads here abo...
Bluesound recent update 4.0 tanked sound quality ???
I have a Node 2i/Ares II in one system and a Powernode in a second system.  I've noticed no change in audio quality with the update.  I stream Qobuz, Tidal and FLAC files from a NAS drive. The update went smoothly for me, although the interwebs s...
Streamer with decent app
Sticking to one box solutions, the next step up would be a Bluesound Powernode or an NAD C700.  Next step up in performance would be the NAD M10 v2, which looks to be currently on sale for US$2,499.  All use the BluOS app which, by most accounts, ...
I am streaming , how can I play music when provider goes down.
What are using to stream? What is the 1T server - is it a NAS drive? I would think that you should be able to access FLAC files on your network irrespective of whether or not your ISP down.  I have done it with BluOS and JRiver.
What happen to MQA on Tidal?
Tidal announced that, starting in August, FLAC will be their preferred source for hi-res audio.  MQA and hi-res FLAC will co-exist for a while as they transition, but it appears that they will eventually phase out MQA.  My Tidal apps on iOS have a...
WiFi Streaming Versus An Ethernet Cable Connection
Many routers are cheaply built and possibly a source of noise.  Wi-fi might help.  Search this forum for fiber media converters, and you will find several threads on inserting a fiber optic cable between your router and streamer (cost is < $100...
What DAC to buy?
+1 for the Denafrips Ares II/Enyo (~US$850) or the Ares 12th-1 (~US$1000).  Just note that the more expensive unit loses one coax and one TOSlink input, if that is important to you. The Ares II has been widely reviewed and liked.  The one downsid...
Anyone buy one yet? Thoughts?
It’s first and foremost a Roon endpoint @jackd That is the impression I got from viewing their video.
Blue Sound Vault
I don’t have a Vault, but the settings should be the same as those for the Node. Go to Settings - Audio - Output Level Fixed. Turn that last feature to "on" by sliding the toggle switch to the right.
Building a 100 album vinyl collection 3 must have albums are?
The Koln Concert - Keith Jarrett Blow by Blow - Jeff Beck Slow Turning - John Hiatt
Blue Sound Vault
A techie friend suggested turning the volume to max on the Vault.  Why not just set it to "Output Level Fixed"?
