How do you tame a Denon DL-S1?
Based on positive listening experiences at shows, I suggest Pass Labs XP-15 or XP-25 phono stages. These do 76db gain with granular loading options all the way down to 10R.
How do you tame a Denon DL-S1?
I agree with Raul. You may get by with a step-up, but this is unlikely to reveal the cartridge's potential. IME the DL-S1 sounds best loaded under 100R. This reduces gain further, compounding problems for all but a high-gain phono stage. I load it...
Top big-name monitors current versions .
I recently had a pair of Green Mountain Audio's top Eos-HX monitors for extended audition and demonstration to a local audio society. Eos-HX has a heroic cast marble cabinet, a simple first-order crossover, and precise time allignment with minimal...
Volume Pot Upgraqde
Consider a shunt volume control with a 50K TX2575 series resistor and a Silonex variable light-dependent resistor in the shunt position. This is explicated in the Lightspeed DIYaudio thread. This will surpass a convention series attentuator.

Mitch4t,I trump you with my Steve McQueen Wanted Dead or Alive sawed off holstered repeater rifle and my Hugh O'Brian Wyatt Earp Action figure bow-legged for ride on a plastic horse. Unfortunately both are lost to the junk yard.
Experience w/ Trans-Fi Auio Terminator Tone Arm?
Wntrmute2, It's great arm, but the on-the-fly VTA feature should be approached with caution. After each change in VTA the clamping screw should be retightened to ensure solid coupling between the air manifold and the core block. Recheck zenith aft...

I'm also a fan of the Rifleman(and Lawman to a lesser extent.) However, Paladin as played by Richard Boone is by far the most interesting-- transitional to Sean Connery's James Bond ant Cpt. Kirk.
Experience w/ Trans-Fi Auio Terminator Tone Arm?
Acman3, I wouldn't bother with the copper wire and Molex connector. IME the straight-shot 9N screened silver wire sounds much better and is less susceptible to RFI/EMI.Franz56, T3/Pro is a killer and no longer requires the return privilege as a ma...

It Might Get Load - documentary
White is the ultimate R&R fan club and whatever his personal talent, his modesty carries the film. Page is the ultimate narcissist, and whatever his talent, his self-embracing tales obviously bore and amuse the Edge. Over a longer run U2 is as...

If it's as good as the TV series it has to be great.
Kate Bush
I noticed intermittent crackling on the first two cuts but clean thereafter. The situation improved slightly after a good wash. I have not had a chance to revisit.
Linear tracking arms and compliance...
Unrelated to servos, I have adapted a short linear air bearing tonearm to cartridges of widely varying compliance. Using lightened parts this modified Trans-Fi Terminator arm reduces horizontal mass to a minimum, then adds back a bit of mass as a ...
How are the Dueland ribbon interconnects?
I've used Duelund 2.0 V2 silver for internal speaker wire but not for interconnects. This wire initially sounded rolled-off, but after long break-in and further improvements to other components, the correct frequency balance has been restored and ...
