Pass Labs Amp X350.5 or X350.8 anyone compare?
Ozzy, I'm breaking in XA-160.8 monoblocks. Suggest at least 40-50 hours of time with music before forming critical judgment.

Interstin - New Jack White LP
Okay, come to Jesus. How many times did you try to que up this LP before discovering its dirty little secret?
Led Zep Reissue on vinyl
Point well taken. The Who endures, but Zep, Cooper, Humble Pie, Grand Funk, ZZ Top are relics of my juvenilia, that at least in the case of Zep probably deserves another chance. The reissue LP jackets sure look enticing.
Led Zep Reissue on vinyl
Whart, I was merely addressing Moryoga's point regarding a decent vinyl version of a Who album. Sorry that wasn't in goose step with your expectations for the thread.

Moryoga, I couldn't care less about Zep, but have exemplary LPs of Who Are You issued on day of original release and later by Classic Records.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Lew, a couple of hours into it the AT20SS really woke up and uncovered the XP-25's potential. It's possible that this is due to cartridge performance, or perhaps to a significant quantum of break-in of phono stage resulting from 20x greater output...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Sorry, after a couple hours of break-in and tweaking I'm eating meals of crow. The AT20SS is a great cartridge and a reminder of Raul'sSlap upside the headBy starting this thread.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hi Fleib, for me it's always been a modified 48db ARC PH-2 for all MM/MIs, which except for Stanton 981LZS, have too much output for the high gain structure of my modified Atma MP-1. It will be interesting to revisit the 981LZS in the context of t...
Stillpoints under a turntable?
Ultra 5s under each corner of a Kenwood L07D plus a fifth leg under the motor housing. Improved focus and better timbre from top to bottom.
12V deep cycle battery to power Trends integrated
The boards now on ebay split the cap array to allow various configurations of filtering or two batteries in a +/- configuration using a center ground. For this application I would bridge it into one array by connecting V+ to V+ and V- to V-, then ...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hi Fleib, Thanks for the info on Sonus. You've persuaded me to revisit the Sonus Blue/Gold after diminishing returns set in with ART7. My distant recollection is that with ARC PH-2 at 100K load, the Sonus Blue Gold had peerless timbre but lacked h...
12V deep cycle battery to power Trends integrated
To bring out the best, make your DC trunk at least 12 awg wire and place filtering capacitors close to the application. There are presoldered 100,000uf/35V Rubycon capacitor arrays for sale on eBay. One of the lowest impedance deep cycle batteries...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hi Fleib, the ART7 owner's manual specifies coil inductance at 8uH(1 kHz). In recent years I've been using only Terminator. At some point I need to compare it to my Technics EPA-100 and Kenwood L07D tonearms-- however Terminator performance has be...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hello Fleib, Sorry for the delayed response regarding Pass XP-25. It's been running in for around two weeks, and if attendant improvements continue, a light verse review may be in order. So far(only tested at the 76db setting with the ART7) it is d...
