Preamp with separate volume control for each channel?
I don’t understand why people are suggesting solutions to remedy a problem that any half decent tech should be able to fix? @perkri Good point, and I 100% agree, however OP seemed to be asking for volume control-based solutions.
The $27,900 disappointment? Wilson Audio Watt Puppy 8 issues.
@inthesticks I think you are correct, I don’t recall the Wilson’s age being mentioned in his 1st video either. Maybe he mentioned it in his follow-up video, but it was so boring I stopped watching it after a few minutes.
At the top of the line is it really all that different?
And here I am going to shamelessly quote myself from another thread At the end of the day, it depends on how much obsessiveness and pathological compulsion dedication and commitment one is willing to bring to the table. A purpose-built listenin...
What does 90% of the Absolute Best Sound Cost?
In the end, it depends on how much obsessiveness and pathological compulsion dedication and commitment one is willing to bring to the table. As @onhwy61 rightly pointed out, a purpose-built listening room becomes a necessity if one is to even hea...
Preamp with separate volume control for each channel?
It sounds like your amp needs to be brought back to proper working order, whether by the shop that should have, or by another. Khozmo makes beautiful products. Sadly their stepped attenuators won't fit in my space-constrained preamp. Neither will...
My Sonus Faber Amatis have weak bass even though I'm running ML 536s--800 w/ch into 4 ohms
Here’s an example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8vhVTQ1cLo As an aside, Duality Repair, the YouTube channel linked above, is one of the best if not the best electronics repair channels on YouTube.  Too bad he doesn't post more regularly. H...
Does anyone listen to the radio anymore?
NPR does good work. Yes, it skews left, but it’s not that hard to mentally adjust for it. It’s like the oven in your kitchen. If you want 350 degrees, you know from experience you have to turn the knob to 375. It doesn’t take a genius.
Does anyone listen to the radio anymore?
For some reason I was convinced that over-the-air FM radio was on its way out, to go off the air in a couple of years and be replaced by HD radio. I even thought the AM / FM radio spectrum had been auctioned off to broadband operators. Anyway, th...
Nuisance tripping of AFCI circuit breaker by inrush of current when turning on amplifiers
Could be:  1. Touchy old AFCI breaker - install new one (same brand), easiest fix 2. AFCIs need neutrals wired back to the same breaker the hot came from. If not, they'll trip all the time. But if a big vacuum cleaner or power tool doesn't trip ...
Does anyone listen to the radio anymore?
I do, daily. No commercial stations though, they've become so abysmally bad. The local "alternative" station hasn't changed its programming in 30 years. They still play Green Day. I like listener-supported stations including NPR, local jazz and ...
How can they not effect the sound
Dents may not affect the sound but they sure affect resale value
What does your Virtual System page say about you?
@sfgak  If your pristine room is what passes for "messy" around here, I'm never posting a virtual system 😂🤣
Getting a Divorce and can now buy floor standing speakers
https://www.kansascity.com/news/state/missouri/article299196360.html I was waiting for the part where the woman shot the men because she did not like their speakers.
My Sonus Faber Amatis have weak bass even though I'm running ML 536s--800 w/ch into 4 ohms
@torke  I love great fast tight bass so I can empathize. There is a nonzero likelihood that your speakers work perfectly as designed, but they're just not right for you. My humble suggestion would be to audition Revel Salon 2 and see if you are ...
??? Anyone Running Active Speakers Driven By A Tube PreAmp ???
@reimarc  Just curious if you're using PowerBoxes, or custom amplification?
