The Music Room
TMR does okay. I’ve bought a few things from them and sold some things to them. Most everything went okay and I got fair prices. They take on some risk buying used gear, hoping to test it as many ways as possible, storing it, listing it, spend tim...
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed?
@b_limo Im keeping the salks thankfully.  I think I would have been disappointed with the finish and drivers on the tektons.  I more than likely would have liked the sound but...Good for you and smart move.  Maybe its time for some worthy mono tub...
Does Steely Dan sound bright to you?
Landslide by Fleetwood Mac in the very last Remastered version sounds nothing like the prior three versions from prior decades; Early version, 2004 version, 2017 remaster, 2018 remastered version. The 2018 remaster at times sounds like a totally d...
Does Steely Dan sound bright to you?
@hilde45 CHECK THIS. Which master version are you really listening to while streaming the Steely Dan "Aja" track? Audiophilestyle wrote an article about this, and "seven" different digital masterings. Try the CD remaster and compare to your stream...
Does Steely Dan sound bright to you?
@hilde45I listened to both tracks you noted;  Gaucho and Aja on [HD] using your same streaming service provider checking for HD and UltraHD versions.  My system is neutral and smooth, and those particular tracks are a tad lean and somewhat bright ...
Cary Audio
Not sold out and without specifics its a rumor.
Where is Cary Audio?
@luxmancl38, "was getting into Home Theater. The processor was a disaster". Very true. Same occurred with B&K Components following the integrated HT trend at that time, and it put them out of business. Could not recover. The industry and platf...
Quality of Cables When Bi-Amping
@roddyboy  proof is in the pudding.  Try two pairs of the suggested 12 gauge cables and bi-amp with them. Listen for a few weeks.  Then swap back in your better CGR cables on the high-end or low-end amp, and compare first hand. Results can vary on...
Cary Audio
@rdh62, Cary has primarily gone to direct sales, so I would guess they are getting bashed by some disgruntled former dealers.Exactly what I was wondering about, and always "leary", pun intended, of some forum people who dive in and make inflammato...
Cary Audio
@geleary123 I just went to Cary Direct, Shopping Cart, shows the SLP-05 in stock. https://carydirect.com/shop-now/preamplifiers/slp-05.htmlDid you answer the question @dill asked above, who told you that?
I had a few drinks and bought some speakers, I've now sobered up
@Krymer2 I bet I had my Sopra 2's playing for 500 hours before I really felt they settled in. It's little bit by little bit. It, for me, did not miraculously happen at one magical hour. Now I have 2k hours and with my all PS Audio suite and all Sy...
Is this normal?
@wodansavatar Looks like the person selling that item you are looking for already sold it here on Agon and has 31 positive feedback items. This might explain part of the short answers, item marked as sold and ad [expired].
Where is Cary Audio?
Playing my Cary SLP-98 upgraded preamp with other mono amps at least 2-3 times a week.  Regretfully resold all of my Cary prior amps (SLI-80, CAD 280SA-V12R, SA-200.2ES) to try other local builders. The preamp matches well with many other amps I'v...
Is this normal?
Anonymous, quote: "I am sure more pictures would help with it's sale but sometimes even in this crazy world you just have to trust what someone says".  If you are still curious, look up the  member's handle-name and check their feedback.  The sell...
I had a few drinks and bought some speakers, I've now sobered up
Give it 200hrs of solid play time at least.  Members over at the PS Audio forum commented a nice change with the Sopra 2s after several months (up to 6 months) before they truly relaxed and settled in.  This is not an uncommon situation with some ...
