Here comes the PS Audio's streamer -- anyone excited? Speculation until someone does the 30 day demo and compares it to something else worth comparing to. However, if folks have had issues with their components and did not feel supported with a resolution, i'd have a concern too. Probably paying a l...
Cable brands that work well with Cardas? As to the OP question - for whatever synergy reason, I've had exceptional results with pairing up some Cardas Interconnects at my sources with downstream interconnects between the preamp and amps with Analysis Plus Crystals. This became an affo...
Cable brands that work well with Cardas? @ghdprentice agree with your update on Gold Ref, they were okay with my SS system, not sot a good much with my tube systems. Resold them to two different ss amp owners. @stringreen which ICs and speaker cables did you use? I’m currently back to ...
Cardas Clear Reflection advice needed @mikey8811 decooney, I am still using the same. Clear Reflection between DAC and pre and Clear Beyond between pre and power. I am tempted to try another Clear Beyond in the place of the Clear Reflection but it costs a lot more. If you don't ...
kt88 vs kt150 @lloydc similarly to what @mulveling shared here, I did the something comparable. Started with KT88s in one amp, then KT120s, and KT150s in two different amps. The past year I stored the KT150s and tried KT120s again - - but let them burn in at le...
Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today @lancelock by chance did you ever try the other Vision SET 400 class A/B design by AVA?
Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today @lancelock I absolutely love my Coda #16. It is the best SS amp I’ve ever owned. The only thing that could make me part with it would be the custom built tube mono blocks that will be arriving this week and that’s a maybe. Uh oh, you did it ...
Less Is Really More - Schiit's New Yggdrasil DAC - Less Is More Bifrost 2/64 arrived. First full night of listening. Nice realism to the sound. Need a few weeks with it. Better than what I was expecting, so far. Leaving it powered on.
Listening after your entire system was powered off cold for a week+ @phusis "Having had the amps and music server turned off for more than a few days - like a week or two - can lend a stiffness, grayness and slight distance to the sound right after power up..." Thanks for sharing the background and the deta...
Less Is Really More - Schiit's New Yggdrasil DAC - Less Is More @wolf_garcia good to know. Thanks for sharing more. Would like to know how long you had to play the unit upgrade before it settled in and sounded right to you? While I’m keeping and truly enjoy my other R2R tube DAC, I wanted something else to al...
Listening after your entire system was powered off cold for a week+ @stringreen good to know. Perhaps I had developed a conservative pattern of not powering things up as soon as I use to with my all-tube system, including my tube DAC. Over time I guess I slowly fell away from the benefit and realization of what a ...
You want a DAC that sounds *different.* What factor helps you find it? Something *different* on this go-around for another DAC to rotate in includes a different approach with the dac architecture, design, parts used, and USA made. Ordered a dac yesterday and kinda hoping it might even have a little bit *different* s...
Listening after your entire system was powered off cold for a week+ Definitely the DAC, mostly. If I fire up the DAC all day long (at least 4-5hrs) before powering on the tube preamp and tube amps, sure makes a difference. Tube preamp and tube amps do just fine after 1-2hrs warmup, as normal. Mr. R2R NOS chip la...
Less Is Really More - Schiit's New Yggdrasil DAC - Less Is More @wolf_garcia "I have a Bifrost 2 and just ordered the upgrade thing. Weeks...gotta wait weeks..." Latest Schiit Bifrost with 2/64 DACs on the way. Has L.I.M. Here next week. 👍
Less Is Really More - Schiit's New Yggdrasil DAC - Less Is More @ozzy62 Ahh yes. The ole "smoked it" comment. Mostly used by teenagers and millennial boys who drive Honda Civics with fart can mufflers. Oh my gosh, best post of the year, LOL, hilarious! 🤣 |
