The phase button on my Rowland Capri is for...?
Thanks Macrojack, I grew a long time ago, but I understand you attraction to the Capri/102. I've got the Continuum 500 and I'm adding the phono stage on Monday. It's an incredible amp.Dave
Building dedicated room with long RCA interconnect
Long runs are where balanced excells. Unfortunately a really high quality RCA in that length will be very expensive to try. If it doesn't work it'll be hard to sell. Maybe a C-J owner with the same problem will report. You might call C-J to get a ...
Amp for Sonus Faber speakers
Listen for yourself with a high power, high damping amp like the JRDG Continuum. If your favorite music has lots of bass, then there'll be a big difference. Also, if you listen to the Sonus and they sound edgy, it's usually due to the set up. Sumik...
getting back into vinyl
Since you plan for the Cremonas in the future I'd suggest putting a budget of $4000 to $8000 together for vinyl and leave money for the Sonus and a much better amp (which they DEMAND). ARC stuff is good, but I don't think it's the best value, part...

Thanks Shadorne.
Amp for Sonus Faber speakers
Yeah, the GPs need a lot of clean power also. Look at Rowland.Dave
Two terms I don't understand - please explain
Misnomer for dynamics and timing (as defined by Collins).I recommend to all to stop using terms that you can't explain in specific terms.

Thanks buddy, I just ordered the single-layer, two-channel SACD of "Heavy Weather". I love Jaco and Joe, but strangely I've never collected any of their stuff, so now we begin...(Oh, the half-speed was 60-bucks used, so I went with the SACD).Yes, ...

Hey Rodman, I'm listening right now to "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" from "a twist of motown". Yeah, that's slammin' bass with the electric bass and synth together. A really great cut. Thanks for the lead.Dave
getting back into vinyl
You obviously can afford $20,000+ for a vinyl front end, otherwise I think you wouldn't be talking about it. Maybe if you talked a little about the rest of your system (speakers, amp, pre-amp, cable) we might be able to help you judge whether you'...

BTW Rkny, what do you think of the Carpi? What did it replace? What amp is it driving? Do you have the phono section in it? Are you using the PC-1 Power Factor Correction in front of it?Dave
Amp for Sonus Faber speakers
I really think that those speakers demand a lot more power, certainly North of 200 watts; otherwise, you will not have the control of the woofers needed to really show their stuff. If the budget supports it, the Jeff Rowland Design Groups Continuum...
Dali Helicon 400 or Acoustic Zen Adagio?
05-02-08: Mike60 said:"I have owned the 400 and the 800mk2, with different amps, and heard them with many other amps. I disagree that they are amp sensitive. The sound good on an average amp, but will reveal the flaws to some extent, and they are ...
Review: Jeff Rowland Continuum 500 Amplifier
Yes, both Reiner and Solti benefited from that incredible CSO brass sound, but it is nice to hear Solti control the whole process much more.Dave
Review: Jeff Rowland Continuum 500 Amplifier
I'll be running down to Colorado Springs on Monday to have Rowland's phono card installed in my Continuum. I'll add some comments on the phono section after I get some hours on it.Guido, the Decca/Speakers Corner LPs (two disks) of Solti and the C...
