Radio Shack Sould Level Meter - Analog Meter
Sorry for the wrong part number. I am still not sure which one to buy. My local Radio Shack has both the old and the new. I am not familiar with SMD to tell whether it is a good thing or a bad thing. Also until Rives tests the new one, we will not...

1. I have tried to download the manual on two different computers and am not successful. Please check the link.2. I have my ET2 installed on an Oracle. The armboard is not very precise and it takes a lot of effort to make sure it is in the correct...
Which Tonearm to go for VPI HW-19 III?
I hear that the Eminent Technology arm is a great fit. I have the ET2 arm on another table and believe it is the best turntable to support this arm.I strongly suggest you investigate this option.
Origin DC Motor in LP12: Marketing or reality?
I have now had the turntable two weekends. Sorry to say, but this table was not working properly for a long time and sat in my basement. It is not going to compare before and after new motor. What I can say is that this table playing "Back to the ...
Why is the trend to make separate phono stage
Thanks for the responses so far. Let me give you some background to why I think this is an important issue. I believe (right or wrong) that the phono section is the hardest part to get right in a preamp. I am also a strong believer that analog is ...
Origin DC Motor in LP12: Marketing or reality?
So now I have the turntable. Running nicely. A little more noisy than the original Oracle motor. However, don't hear it when playing a record.Much more torque. The platter does not slow down at all when you use a recod brush.Seems completely stabl...
Origin DC Motor in LP12: Marketing or reality?
I just had one installed on my Oracle Delphi turntable. I will pick it up tomorrow. The person that installed it on the Oracle expressed that he felt it was low in torque compared to other original motors on Mapleknoll and Sota. I purchased mine f...
How to reduce the friction in the bearing
I spoke to Oracle. They tell me that the teflon in the bearing gets bigger with time. This means that the gap in the bearing gets smaller and makes the platter not move freely. They suggest sending the bearing back and have them remove excess teflo...
How to reduce the friction in the bearing
I bought it new in 1986 from Oracle. However, as I tried to set it up in 1991 first time, the motor broke in the first 10 hours. Oracle refused to service under warranty. Back in the box. Just got an origin live motor. Now the bearing seems tight....
How to pick which brand of 6550 tubes to purchase
Thanks everyone. Particulary the recent article comparing 6550's sound interesting. My guess is that I have 1,000 to 2,000 hours after 20 years. I did not count. Recently listening as much as 10 hours per month. My voltages are very high 620 Volt....
High resolultion cd player
My thinking is you need a new generation of techology. I purchased a Sony SCD-555ES SACD player. Great on SACD and good for redbook CD. Beats my Rega Planet (original). Head phone amp is built-in when you want to listen to the fine detail.
Great Jazz SACDs
Thanks everyone. I bought a few this week. Tried Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. Compared to my Vinyl record. Vinyl beat the sound hands-down. Bought Pink Ployd DSOTM. Vinyl better.Bought two Diana Krall. Very happy. Sound good.My sense is that it is...
Use a gDVD/CD player as transport with a good DAC?
Great everyone. Thanks for your help. I guess this was not a silver bullet. I am looking for one so if you have one let me know. In the meantime, I will continue my chase for perfect reproduction looking for used Theta and EAD gear. I certainly be...
Best turntable for Eminent Technology arm
Thanks everyone for your response. I wish I could afford a Rockport Sirius myself. I will continue to dream. In the meantime I will probably stay with the Oracle. Thanks everyone.
Lenco Turntables? any info, opinions, thoughts?
My good friend in the late 60's bought a L75. It was Ok, but nothing spectacular. Probably on par with some of the cheap Dual turntables. I believe the turntable rotated by a couple of rubber wheels that moved the platter, ie. no belt or similar. ...
