DIY Interconnects review I have a question on people's preferred termination method; crimped, soldered, or both? And if soldered, how important do you feel the "mechanical" connection within the solder joint is to the performance?I know this has been debated before, but I...
Let's build a subwoofer interconnect The Belden 89259 is also an affordable option. Same idea as above though, you don't need to go nuts to have an uncompromising solution.
Best Outboard PreAmp With Krell HTS 7.1 Pass-Thru? I too have a DV-50 and an HTS 7.1, and have heard good things about the Audio Research LS25 MkII. It has a HT bypass. I have never tried one though.I have also tried several other Pre/pros and from my experience, the HTS 7.1 is one of the much bet...
Nuforce Ecruz - this is off topic, but I am in the same boat...listening at night, with kids, and their monitors...when I am home that is- Although this might not fix your interference issues with the NuForce, check out Sony's Babycall monitors. They are ...
DIY Interconnects review Sean, thanks for such a thoughtful response.I need to take some time and digest it now, but it lends credit to those who have sent me what they thought were great cables, which when installed in my system, didn't seem to make any difference.
DIY Interconnects review Sean - I can bet I am missing something, but I will ask anyway; How do you know what kind of ICs your gear would work best with [high inductance vs high capacitance]?ThanksPS: Sorry for the poor English-
Holy Crap What have I done? Thanks, it would be interesting to know if you can hear a difference. I am not sure about the differences between the xm9 and the xm44 other than the xm44 can input a balanced signal. The boards physically look a lot different. I have been kicking...
Holy Crap What have I done? So does that mean you are running an XM9 with a 65Hz or 85Hz cossover? Also, are you running your mains through the XM9? I am asking because I am thinking about trying an active crossover, but I fear losing the "magic" on the high-pass side.
Esoteric DV-60 Regarding my post above - before anyone jumps all over me - I don't question that Esoteric has done more to change the DV-60 from the DV-50, I just feel that what I mentioned would be the big points that alone would warrant a new model.
Holy Crap What have I done? Howard - anything new to mention?
Esoteric DV-60 Like I said, I like more weight just because it make me feel like I am getting what I'm paying for...totally a psychological thing with me. Nevertheless, I have had lighter weight gear crush heavy gear when listened to, so it is not at all a consi...
2 subwoofer??? In addition to Rusler's question, when running two subs do people here like to run them in stereo or mono?
Esoteric DV-60 How the heck do you keep track of the playing time?!!Jeeze, after I break something in for a couple of days in the beginning, I loose track completely. I guess I just can't count past about 200. ;-)
What is the best redbook CD player for 6K to 8K? Guidocorona - You are correct, and that is legitimate concern, as much as the AudiogoN resale value of a "modded" machine...which is usually not that good. If you go that route, youd want to keep the piece for quite some time. With my statement ab...
Esoteric DV-60 Keep in mind that the Linn Unidisc weighs something like 20# or less...and most folks really like the way it sounds too. I gather several Esoteric units use very thick solid steel cases which is where the bulk of the weight comes from. Does this h... |
