Accuphase A50V Vs. Krell FPB 600
Hi, first the Accuphase A50V is not a monobloc amp, unless you apply the bridged mode. Second, the Krell is a monster (2x600W/8Ohms) amp. Third, the Accuphase is a totally different amplifier than the Krell. So this comparison is pointless!Chris

mastersound SET amps from Italy
Hi, may I ask: does this SET amp sound like solid state? I'm asking because some of you don't like the typical SET sound and prefer a neutral, fast and dynamic sound with good bass like... solid state sound. So why are you buying a SET with "only"...
to ground or not to ground
Thank you for your responses. But are those people who claim that ungrounded audio equipment sound better = crazy?Chris
Are modern speakers better than old speakers?
I think you should divide two types of speakers: the dipoles (electrostatics, full range ribbons and magnetostats) and the cone (moving coil) speakers. The full range Apogee ribbons are no longer being made (for almost 20 years) but they are still...
Best digital cable to audition?
Rja, in which departments is the Virtual Dynamics Revelation Signature superior to the Stealth Varidig Sextet? What do you think of the Marigo Aperition? How does your top-3 digital cables look like?Chris
Best digital cable to audition?
If the Stealth Varidig Sextet digital cable is the absolute best digital cable in existence (or at least the best digital cable on this planet), why are people selling this cable? If they have experienced "paradise", why would they want to go back...
Anybody else heard the Avalon Acoustics Isis?
Dev, I have never auditioned the MBL Radialstrahlers but according to an audiophile buddy with very good ears they sounded a bit odd during a demo (recent VAD show in Holland): they sounded quite diffuse, midrange was almost absent, treble and bas...
SRA VR vs. Ohio
Sorry, this is a bit off topic: does any of you know the TAOC soundboards? I'm using two of them under my CD transport and DAC and I must say that they don't muddy or thin out the sound but bring along real improvements (more transparency, tighter...
Swiss amps
Hi Alexsee, I think the FM Acoustics has this very refined and silky treble, especially with violins. The character is very neutral and transparent and not tubey at all. The bass of the FM Acoustics 801A is excellent. I know the Goldmund sounds "f...
Swiss amps
This is bit off topic question I have for the Goldmund owners: how does a Goldmund poweramp sound? Does it sound tubelike? Does is sound musical, soft and silky in the treble? Or is it just a revealing amp in a clinical way? In other words: why di...
Harshness in Midrange??? Any Help
If the problem is as you gentlemen stated, are the people at B&W so stupid that they would allow such a flaw to exist in their design? Or did they design this speaker with the "flaw" in mind? Or did they "discover" this flaw afterwards (which ...
Shun Mook Ultra Diamond Resonators
Harmonix and Shun Mook don't do anything against spurious resonance: they add resonance. So the sound with these devices is system's sound + the sound of the devices. It's of an additive nature (and not subtractive). Is this the goal of audiophile...
Class-D amps - a different re view
Branimir, it is not a question whether class D fans are die hards or not. I'm not a die hard and I'm not a class D "fan" either. I'm only reporting my personal experience with class D (ICEpower ASP1000) so far. I'm still convinced that some conven...
