upgrade or replace rega planar 3 Look into a used Rega P7 or the new RP6. Slightly over your budget but a P7 sounds alot closer to a P9 then a P5 or P25. Have not demoed the RP6 yet, but it looks promising for $1495.
How good does a TT have to be for a good cartridge Your vinyl set up is only as good as the weakest link. Instead of focusing on a $3k+ cartridge, work on isolation-cables and synergy between the cartridge and phono preamp.
How selective are you? Inna,Another member told me Stereophile?
How selective are you? I agree with quality over quantity. I'm always looking(listening) for new music but if the content doesn't rate close to a 10 forget it. I'm much more lenient when considering recording quality.

Fed up with people making noise at classical shows Chadnliz,Your responsible for 21/96 posts! Check with the Audiogon staff if this sets a thread record. Maybe they will send you some party noise makers to bring to your next classical concert!
Upgrade from Rega P5 If your happy with the Rega P5 give the flagship Rega P9 consideration. It's no exotic beauty queen but many prefer it over tables at the $10k price point.
First subwoofer for a newbie. Since your looking for a value based subwoofer($500-$1200)give Epik a serious look. Epik subs have been successfully mated with Magnepans. Says alot about a value based subwoofer!!!
Am I going to regret the Gallo 3.1s? Your room(10x9)is to small for the Gallo. If your not against a monitor give the Lehmann Audio ML1(used) a serious look.
Fed up with people making noise at classical shows Add, nose blowing-throat clearing-whispering-playing with the concert program-purse rummaging-crinkling candy/gum wrappers and not being able to sit still. I think this covers it. Remember when attending a formal concert, "silence is golden"!
Fed up with people making noise at classical shows The cough or sneeze can be annoying. Is it that difficult to control a body function for 60-75 minutes before intermission! Of the close to 100 concerts me and my wife have attended I can't recall either of us having an issue. Are only issue was t... |
