Forgotten early New Wave...
The Motels were hard to categorize. Their music ranged from post punk to adult contemporary. Another plus was Martha Davis, she was both eye and ear candy! Even with some chart success they are mostly forgotten.
Nad M3? Need amp for Vandersteen 3 $3,000 budget
I do agree with an Ayre intergrated being a solid match, but it might be short on power. You should consider a used Gryphon intergrated. Not sure what model could be had for $3k(Callisto 2100-2200)? Remember quality is cheap!
Forgiving, musical speaker....
Vienna Acoustics-Bach Grand. The midrange is as good as it gets considering the $1k used price point. They do need a quality 100 w/ch or > ss power amp to reach their potential. If I ever consider a 2nd system these are at the top of my list!
break-in--bane or boon ??
My JPS-Superconductor Q provided a "rollercoaster" type of break in. Decent within the first few hours, then they became harsh, etched and nearly unlistenable for the next 20 hours. At times I thought my tweeters might be damaged. After about 25 h...
What is the best loudspeaker for a small room?
Jerrypan-The Kef 203/2 is a world class speaker. Is lack of very deep bass an issue? Have you worked on room acoustics or considered a subwoofer?
Best Metal Vinyl Album
Black Sabbath-Vol. 4Iron Madien-Piece Of MindMegadeth-Rust In PeaceI would look for an original pressing of these recordings.
Do you ration your favorite music?
No, I think the key(for me) is to keep your music collection somewhat limited. This way every recording has nearly the same value and interest.
Primare i21 vs. Yamaha A-S2000
Is there something you dont like about the i21? If not the Primare i31 is a nice upgrade(dual mono).
What to upgrade first
I sound like a broken record! Upgrade your analog gear!
First song to "Blow You Away"...
Around age 12 I started listening to FM-AOR radio. Had very little interest in disco that was taking over Top 40 radio. The first time I heard Slow Ride by Foghat(live version)I couldn't believe how loud and large a rock band could sound!

Forgotten heavy bands from late 60's to early 70's
Thanx for the many great selections. Sir Lord Baltimore-Boulder Damn and Night Sun are great bands that I was unfamiliar with. Also discovered Armageddon-st-1975. If your familiar with Armageddon is it worth the effort and cost to obtain an import...

Are you Tommy Chong?
Best Integrated, period.
Anyone heard the Neodio NR 1200 or Norma IPA-140. I'm curious if there on the same level as the Dartzeel-Gryphon-Vitus or VAC.
