Help with Hydra Power Conditioner I currently live in an apartment so re-wiring the building is out. I would imagine that this also adds to the garbage in the power system of the building as there are a lot of appliances going at all times, etc. Thanks for your feedback, Dave.
Just got my Nak Dragon - Wow I have a Nakamichi DR-1, not up to the Dragon but a fine deck. I think it is a great addition to my system in the ability to record my favorite vinyl that I play more frequently for some easy play back. I would love to have a Dragon, and perhaps s...
Dyanaudio Audience 50 MKII.....need advise I have a pair of 52SE's, which I love, and I have tried them straight and toed in. I find the speakers dissapear much better with a slight toe in. I did audition a pair of Focal Micro Utopia's in the same room and position and they really liked be...
new vs. used vinyl, pops and clicks. I think that you are getting a wonderful settup, the TT and cartridge are both tops. I have a VPI HW19Jr with a Dynavector 10X5 and was very happy. I then added a VPI 16.5 and I am still in shock as to the improvement the RCM made. I have used AI ...
Dali 1.7 or dynaudio 52 se I am sorry that I cannot give you any opinion on the Dali, I have not heard them. I have heard and purchased a pair of 52SE in january of this year. I am pleased beyond my expectations. Very warm, wonderful bass and very fast and articulate. Very ...
TDK SA-X or Maxell XLII-S which is best? I find both tapes to be very similar, though if pressed I usually choose the Maxell XLII-S as I think that the case is a little nicer. I also find that it is much easier to still get the Maxell tapes than the better TDK items. I still do a bit of ...
Looking for the king of mini monitors under $1500 I am a big fan of my Dynaudio 52SE speakers. I listen to Jazz, pop, classical in that order. Very warm, detailed and expansive. I also recently heard a pair of Naim n-sat on naim stands and the whole group was very surprised and pleased by the sound.
Sacd/dvd-a, The Hype Is Dead, For Me At Least... I listen to vinyl about 70% of the time and have resisted upgrading my digital source because of all of the possible new formats and my feeling that none will be as good as vinyl. I was however very surprised after auditioning a Balanced Audio CD ...
Question about Bach/Starker There is a noticable presence of the recording studio in the records, I think that it is also present in the original. Perhaps the subwoofer enhances this a bit out of the norm for the recording. Try adjusting the subwoofer as this may be coloring...
Getting and keeping records clean................ I have been hand cleaning my records for the past six months and really felt very happy with the results. It was time consuming but a series of cleans with various sollutions and most were very quiet. Last weekend I purchased a VPI 16.5 and with t...
Turntable height I really don't think that it really matters how high your turntable is unless your playing some Frank Zappa.
Cleaning Cassette Decks Is it ok to use the alcohol on the rollers? I would think that it would cause some early drying and hardening.
Who sells outer LP jacket slip-covers? I just go a hundred from music direct, the 4mil, and they are very nice. I will be getting enough for my whole collection. Can't imagine needing more than the 4mil.
How Long do LP's last Thanks guys, this information just about brings me to tears with joy. I would also welcome any ideas on where to get more vinyl. Lets see, if I can gather a 1,000 LP's and play each a 1,000 times I could listen to vinyl for the next 114 years if I...
What's wrong with classical music on vinyl? I am sorry if this was covered in previous post's, I don't have time to read them all. I had some similar, though milder, issues until I did a few things. I got a stylus gauge and reset my cartridge, I was surprised how far off it was. I then used... |
