Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great???
@samhvcc Like Charles1dad just stated, the Sony SS AR1 is not that efficient a speaker, if you are even considering that the JA30Mk2 won’t be enough power for them, then the SE 300B will only lead to one thing...Major disappointment! Matching the ...
Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great???
Indeed, Jadis does make beautiful sounding and emotionally engaging amplifiers. To that, I think their build quality is basically second to none.IMO, if one is looking for a tube based amp, then these need to be on anyone's short list.
Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great???
Got it. I'm not really a fan of 300B single ended amps. Not because I don't think they sound good, but more because they are so very limiting as to the speakers that you can match them to. Plus, I think in many cases the 300B tube is more suscepti...
Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great???
@samhvcc Congratulations on becoming a new JA30Mk2 owner. The amps do need a little run in before they can show their full potential, like all new gear. I would also suggest, like the manual states that you don’t listen that carefully until about ...
Table and arm combos in 13k range
@mijostyn  Once again more inaccurate posts from you-- when you stated this.." I do not recommend the Linn LP12 because it's (?) suspension was poorly designed and it is not stable"...where are you getting this from????
Reviewing the fabulous Silversmith Fidelium Speaker Cables
@silversmith Thanks again, Jeff. I noted that my friend Winston has posted on your blog. The fact that Winston feels very highly about these cables says a great deal for them, IMO. I am also amazed that another user gave up a pair of Nordost Valha...

@silversmith Jeff, nice to see you on this forum and thank you for your reply. I still utilize the SF GH’s and I would be pairing the cables with them and probably my Jeff Rowland model 8T, which has the option to bi-wire on the rear of the amp. I...
Second hand vinyl surface damage.
Unfortunately and IME the only way to truly determine the condition of a record is to play it! I recently acquired what looked like a Mint copy of a little known Direct to Disc. This LP was graded Mint minus, and looking at the sleeve and the reco...
Where in the US to send my Linn Sondek LP12.
For the OP, it would make good sense to go with Thomas OK and have at least the Karousel bearing installed. I recently installed the Karousel bearing and it is a significant and worthwhile upgrade, highly recommended.

Just read the description that Jeff posted about the connection issues. Not sure if it would work when you have dual binding posts spaced closely together as I have on my speakers, but I do think it is great that Jeff is willing to attempt to solv...
Linn LP 12 hum not coming from Bryton phono stage.
@masi61   Good, sounds like you have a handle on the hum issue. The skating issue may be caused by an incorrect anti-skating force...what tonearm are you using?
Linn LP 12 hum not coming from Bryton phono stage.
@masi61 Sorry to hear of your continuing issues...this hobby can be more than frustrating at times!Since Thomas OK set up your table ( which with the new upgrades should be stellar), I would not expect any issues with the table. OTOH, hum is usual...
Jazz is not Blues and Blues is not Jazz.......
Blues and jazz are simply two different ways to express feelings...in music. Blues can have some Jazzy aspects, just like Jazz can have some Bluesy aspects..Neither have to be exclusive to one another, so long as the vibe is there...if this makes ...
New Sonus Faber Electa Amator 3...anybody heard these yet?
@vtag  If you bought your EA2's years ago, you need to adjust for inflation. The new EA2's are what price in today's world, adjusted for inflation? Then you can ask the question that you did!
The Linn Karousel bearing.
The new Karousel is priced at a point that does seem fairly reasonable...and for the increase in SQ that it brings...well that really tips the upgrade in the consumers favor, IMO.Like I noted before, the price may or may not include fitting. I had...
