Wilson Alexx V
@highend666 The speaker I heard was the Alexx V, in most ways not related to the Wilson Alexandria Series 2...not Alexx Series 2. Admittedly, their naming can be confusing sometimes. Yes, the Alexx V is a way superior sounding speaker to that old ...
Jadis DA88S mkii integrated
I am a big fan of Jadis. Their amps are truly some of the best I have heard, and with the new KT150 models, i have yet to hear another tube amp that I would rather own. Plus their build quality is second to none, IMO.I have not heard the DA88s, bu...
Wilson Audio Specialties Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker!! only $300,000.oo
@john1   Uhmm, The Sasha 1 utilized the same Focal Tweet as the Watt Puppy 7...How anyone could prefer that tweeter over the new Wilson silk dome is beyond me..Yes, the YG Billetdome is very good, but IMO so are the new Wilson silk domes..unless y...
Wilson Audio Specialties Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker!! only $300,000.oo
@nationalbar Looking at the pricing points of the Wilsons ( or for that matter any high end product that has a multi kilobuck number attached) is something that serves little purpose to me. I think we tend to forget that there are a lot of folks w...

@edgewound I always laugh when I see an example of what you posted about with guitar ’collectors’. I have a friend who cannot play a lick and who recently was more than happy to show me his newest Gibson LP Gold Top...which he just paid over $40K ...
Interested in any feedback from current Kharma or Vivid speaker owners
I totally love the sound that I have heard from all of the Vivid’s that I have heard. I wanted to state that up front. I had an opportunity to look inside one of their speakers recently, please PM if you would like my impressions of what I saw.
You pay for it and you get it...
Ok, now what you state makes some sense.

@dietch2 I’m fairly certain that scale has nothing to do with the recording. (Unfortunately!) I know this as we heard exactly the same recording in the different systems that I discussed above, The Alexx V’s portrayed scale, the Sabrina X’s...did ...

@mijostyn  Actually the size of the image is NOT what I am referring to as 'scale'. This is where it becomes difficult to describe what 'scale' is. The size of the image has nothing to do with 'scale'...and yet the imaging of the instruments on th...

@speakermaster. I think you also have to add room size. No room less than probably 15x20 will give you scale, at least IME.
Wilson Alexx V
I think that is correct. My memory of the Alexx is that it is a superb speaker with excellent coherence. The new model is everything that I remember of the old model, plus a bit more extended at the frequency extremes. Unfortunately, the price has...

@audition__audio  More than likely the dealer who is selling the Wilson's is also selling the D'Ag Relentless amps...and as such he can now make two sales. I wouldn't think that the big D'ag would break too much of a sweat on the new Wilsons.

@nationalbar  Intersting post. I am not sure you are talking about dynamic expression vs. scale, but if you can get large scale in this way, I would think it also has to do with your very large room. Essentially what you are describing is creating...

When I listened to the very nice Alexx V’s, I was quite aware that each speaker cost $65K. Looking at the speaker, and it is nice, there is simply no way that $65K each can be attributed to this product. When one looks at what $65K will buy you, n...

Keithr, I think you have made a generic statement about Wilson’s that isn’t really the case anymore . If you get a chance to hear the new Alexx V, I think you will retract your post.I would agree that the big Wilson’s from just a few years back we...
