Record Cleaning Machines
IMO, Ultrasonic cleaning is definitely an improvement over a basic wet vacuum cleaning. I had a very noisy RCA Direct to Disc that I had assumed was beyond hope, yet after the US cleaning, it was much quieter and is now very impressive. I do think...
Record Cleaning Machines
I cleaned a number of Blue Note originals ( some of them scratched and therefore VG to VG+ copies) on the Kirmuss. I used only distilled water, nothing else. The results were interesting, a slightly cleaner looking LP, but SQ was exactly the same ...
How long does Class A have?
@bpoletti  Be nice... this is an audio forum, no need for politics.@mrmeaner  Perhaps a better question would be, how long does Class D have?
Nirvana sued over "Nevermind" cover photo
If the baby on the cover had never told anyone that his name was Spencer Elden, how many here believe that he would have risked been identified as an adult?

@stager   There is some concern that using alcohol on LP's can be quite detrimental. Alcohol is a drying agent, as such the potential to dry the vinyl and make it more brittle is a possibility. Possible damage to the groove wall would be the result.

I have a Kirmuss on loan right now. The Kirmuss method is as mentioned above, lengthy and involved. Therefore, i decided I wanted to see if the machine worked well with just distilled water and nothing else. At first, I had thought that the lack o...

Your favorite KT 150 based amplifier?
The new Jadis Mk 2 amps that utilize KT150's are superb.
Nordost users....time to upgrade!
@tablejockey  Now that's some bling!!! I would imagine that some lucky lad has convinced his better half that these need to be in his listening room, overlooking his garage full of Ferrari's and Lambo's.
So damn hard deciding which tube preamp to buy!
CAT Renaissance BPX with phono. IME nothing else even comes close. You can also order it with Balanced inputs/outputs if you so desire.

I guess the place where the rollout occurred says a lot.But in my opinion, gold plated cable is really nothing more than a marketing gimmick. I have a few friends who went with Odin and Odin 2, opened their wallet wide and now regret it. Not that ...
Sonus Faber vs Wilson
@keithr   Keith, your fiance may have a point if they are going to be center of your main living room. OTOH, the Sasha DAW's or the smaller Sabrina X's can be perhaps 'blended' into the space with a choice of color. I guess I am lucky, I don't hav...
Sonus Faber vs Wilson
One quick additional point...why are so many thinking the Wilsons are ugly? I think they look great, plus you can pick a number of different colors to match your decor. The SF's, which all have a very nice look ( i own a pair) are all of the 'trad...
Do small preamp tubes 12ax7 need to be matched?
Lewm brings up a very good point when he states that tubes age at different rates. I have always wondered how tube matching makes a lot of sense when a) the tubes will age at different rates b) what are the parameters that one can say a tube is ma...
Sonus Faber vs Wilson
If you like the looks and sound of your SF’s there is little wrong in that. The Wilson Sasha DAW’s are an excellent speaker that can probably bring you more dynamics and bass punch at the expense of some room flexibility. If your room isn’t up to ...
