Radikal Linn LP12 or Palmer 2.5?
@latenitecity. You bring up a good point about the Harbeths 40.2’s. They are an excellent speaker, but one that is a tad reticent in the very highest frequencies...and they require a large room. If possible, I would think it better if you could li...
Radikal Linn LP12 or Palmer 2.5?
@viridian  I see your point, but I don’t really look at it that way. Instead, I believe that once the Linn is set up correctly, it really is play ready without fuss for extended periods of time. ( so you really don’t need to be visiting your deal...
Radikal Linn LP12 or Palmer 2.5?
@astewart8944   Your post brings up a very good point. I just noticed that the OP had listened to the top of the line AMG Viella...versus the little Giro, what the OP said with regards to his findings would make some sense if he was talking about...
Radikal Linn LP12 or Palmer 2.5?
@latenitecity  Nice to hear that you have done some listening and included a few options. The Dr.Feickert Woodpecker and Blackbird are nice tables. i would consider them if the Linn wasn't an option. Different sound to a full blown Linn, but one t...
Eminent technology et2 on Linn Lp12
@pkvintage   Good move. While I think that the ET2 arm may have given you a bit more SQ than the Audio Note, I also think the odds were a LOT higher that you would regret the decision- what with the mounting issues, the ongoing maintenance and so ...
Eminent technology et2 on Linn Lp12
Just to clarify a few points...I think that while the ET2 arm can and does work on a LP12, it is far from being an ideal matchup. The synergy between the two pieces is ok, but I do want to stress that IMO there are better options for this table. O...
Eminent technology et2 on Linn Lp12
@testpilot  Your point about a number of arms working well with the Linn isn't actually correct. Unfortunately the opposite is more accurate..there are few arms that work well with the Linn! The Linn suspension requires an arm that is not only lig...
Eminent technology et2 on Linn Lp12
@ct0517 The fact that you may not like the idea of mounting an arm that needed constant tweaking and maintenance doesn’t NOT make it tried and true! This combo was utilized extensively back when the ET2 arm was popular, and as I stated...it worked...
Eminent technology et2 on Linn Lp12
@ct0517  My personal experience, lol.you ask this question as if it is a challenge. Funny how this this kind of attitude is fairly prevalent these days on forums....what’s with this attitude?since you asked, my experience with this set up is exte...
Eminent technology et2 on Linn Lp12
The ET arm and a Linn LP12 are a tried and true combo. I have heard this set up in a few occasions, it worked quite well. The ET arm can be a pain to maintain and keep set up, but the synergy between the arm and table..  no problem.
Origin DC Motor in LP12: Marketing or reality?
There are numerous reasons why a table might need to be updated...if that is even possible with the design. Not the least of which are improvements in the technology and the ability to retrofit same.Linn has offered this opportunity with its Linn ...
Marvin Gaye "What's Going On" new 45RPM MOFI UD1S
I think it interesting that many a’philes seem to forget this simple point...The original recording is only going to be as great as the master tape. If the master tape has issues, either recording or condition, then any reissue will only be as gre...
Highest BUILD quality tube amps?
I think today's Jadis amps are about as high quality as anything out there.
New Sonus Faber Electa Amator 3...anybody heard these yet?
@tonykay   I saw that mini review in Absolute Sound. They certainly look like the real deal.
One of the best tweeters ever, whatever happened?
I have both the Fi magazine article/ magazine and the speakers.IMO,the speakers are nothing great. The box that Radio shack put them in is a piece of junk. The tweeter is easily bested by numerous other designs, including silk domes and any number...
