Suggest one obsure album we all should hear They Audreys Between Last Night and Us. I have no idea if it’s obscure or not. Hasn’t been mentioned so it’s too popular or not popular enough

The Good Stuff Just watched the Netflix Miles Davis Birth of the Cool documentary. I'm not really a Miles Davis fan as but I will say I'm more of one today than yesterday. Great soundtrack.
How good does my system have to be to realize an improvement with cables? I have found speaker cables make the largest difference and went with Nordhost Heimdall 2. Upgrading power cords or USB cables yielded no improvement to my ears. YMMV Thank you for the response. What a wonderfully frustrating hobby, right? ...
Why do so many members seem afraid of making an audio decision? I started as consumer. Played a musical instrument in the marching band and wanted to be up on the music scene. Would stack up a bunch of records and blast away. At one point I even moved the stereo into a walk in closet in my dorm room and would ...
How good does my system have to be to realize an improvement with cables? @ebm I appreciate that but at what point does a system become classified as "high resolution"? If I think my system is only a "mid resolution" system will simply adding cables bump it up a notch to "entry-hi"? What are the criteria I can use t...
You want a DAC that sounds *different.* What factor helps you find it? What color do tube DACs add? Green, Blue, Chartreuse? Matching the inputs to what your source does best will allow you to realize the full potential of the DAC's presentation. After that it's matching a DACs sound presentation to your syste...
How good does my system have to be to realize an improvement with cables? @tablejockey +1 to that. Where were you when I started this thing? For every minor change I have hours and hours of research. The good part is that I can listen while I study.
DAC suggestions +1 @rsf507 That was my impression of the Schitt DAC also.
The Good Stuff I want to thank ROK2 for keeping this thread going. It's like a sampler letting me taste all the beers. My submission for today Roberta Gambarini So In Love With special guests James Moody, Roy Hargrove So In Love https://youtu.be/ObNAQu7M3...
How good does my system have to be to realize an improvement with cables? Thanks everyone for the input. My biggest issue is I don't know what I don't know. I'm budget cable all the way and it still sounds good to me, so considering buying a cables that cost more than half of what I spent on my amp causes me pause. ...
DAC suggestions I upgraded from the MHDT Orchid to a used PS Audio DirectStream which was a litter over $2K used. 2K is the trade in value at PSAudio so it's a baseline to work from. Neither of these DACs have the typical "brashness, shimmer, sizzle whatever" I...
Beatles Get Back documentary What an amazing 6 hours. Watching masters of their craft create the classics knowing how they came about musically and lyrically was soooo good. For me one of the best parts is when they got thru the drudgery of creating the music, the joy they ...
Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"? For me filtering the USB power from the source made a huge difference, maybe as much as changing from the MHDT Orchid DAC to the PSAudio DirectStream. I've never heard a Zen Stream but my experience is that the source feeding the DAC has a huge...
Network Bridge/Streamer only for Qobuz I going to suggest a different option that works for me. The Qobuz Windows app is really good sounding giving you the option match streaming size to your bandwidth. I'm using an I5 Kingdel Fanless Mini Desktop around $400. WiFi extender with an... |
