DAC suggestions
+1 @rsf507  That was my impression of the Schitt DAC also.
The Good Stuff
I want to thank ROK2  for keeping this thread going.  It's like a sampler letting me taste all the beers.  My submission for today Roberta Gambarini  So In Love With special guests James Moody, Roy Hargrove So In Love https://youtu.be/ObNAQu7M3...
How good does my system have to be to realize an improvement with cables?
Thanks everyone for the input.  My biggest issue is I don't know what I don't know.  I'm budget cable all the way and it still sounds good to me, so considering buying a cables that cost more than half  of what I spent on my amp causes me pause. ...
DAC suggestions
I upgraded from the MHDT Orchid to a used PS Audio DirectStream which was a litter over $2K used.  2K is the trade in value at PSAudio so it's a baseline to work from. Neither of these DACs have the typical "brashness, shimmer, sizzle whatever" I...
Beatles Get Back documentary
What an amazing 6 hours.  Watching masters of their craft create the classics knowing how they came about musically and lyrically was soooo good.  For me one of the best parts is when they got thru the drudgery of creating the music, the joy they ...
Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"?
For me  filtering the USB power from the source made a huge difference,  maybe as much as changing from the MHDT Orchid DAC to the PSAudio DirectStream.  I've never heard a Zen Stream but my experience is that the source feeding the DAC has a huge...
Network Bridge/Streamer only for Qobuz
I going to suggest a different option that works for me.  The Qobuz Windows app is really good sounding giving you the option match streaming size to your bandwidth.  I'm using an I5 Kingdel Fanless Mini Desktop around $400.  WiFi extender with an...
What do the arrows mean on my cable?

Bypassing / Jumping Pots? Ex: Rotel RB-1050 or Parasound HCA-1000a
Just turning them up all the way should pretty much be same thing unless you are going to desolder the wires and solder a jumper at the circuit board to eliminate the short run of wire and even then with good gear the change should be negligible.
Theoretical battery power supply question
Space Tech Labs makes a 12V DC tube preamp. https://www.space-tech-lab.com/Tube_Pre-Amps/Wonder%20Amp%20series/WP-1.php
Most Shocking Upgrade to your System (LIFEPO4 Battery on Network Streamer)
@brandonhifi  How big are your batteries and how many hours of streaming do you get per charge? Have you ever tried charging a battery while it's powering the streamer instead of switching them?
We Can Make Classic Cars Outperform Today's "SuperCars": Why Not Vintage Audio?
@ketchup Did ya read the whole thing or just cherry pick the line. If you can show me a 70s era classic that run a sub 10 second quarter, have a top speed of over 180 miles and hour and brake 60 to 0 in less than 110 ft, pull over a 1 G on a figu...
We Can Make Classic Cars Outperform Today's "SuperCars": Why Not Vintage Audio?
@crustycoot  Careful what you wish for.  We have neither enough the raw materials required to make enough batteries or the power grid to charge them to replace gas powered cars.  The global drought is almost at a tipping point where hydro electric...
We Can Make Classic Cars Outperform Today's "SuperCars": Why Not Vintage Audio?
@waytoomuchstuff I appreciate the response but the real answer is you can't make a classic outperform today's cars or a vintage stereo outperform todays HIFI.  Sure a  car exists that can run sub 7 second quarters and be "street legal" but not in ...
Foobar now comes in x64 / Version 2 beta
