Suspended vs. non suspended turntable Dcstep, that's a test I can trust. I wonder if I can re-create this with my CDP and a recording that I have in both formats.
Suspended vs. non suspended turntable That's been in the back of my mind as well. For the moment, forget about vibrations that may be transfered through the stand or table. Short of playing records in a vacuum, I don't see how we get away from airborne vibrations no matter what we cho...
Suspended vs. non suspended turntable Ah, I get it. Isolation under components like power supplies. Yeah, that works. At least I get good results with the roller blocks. I'm using Stillpoints under my table as a temporary stop gap. The granite in direct contact with my table doesn't w...
Suspended vs. non suspended turntable Mass, yes. Isolation, not so much.
Suspended vs. non suspended turntable Congrats on your suspension modification. I don't see the need for it, but if it makes you happy you can be the High Priest of the Isolation sect.
Suspended vs. non suspended turntable Amfibius, I should have mentioned in my post that I'm keeping in mind the rest of your system. Those Violons deserve to be feed with a really good analog source. I don't want to totally dismiss the importance of stand, etc., but the idea is that y...
Suspended vs. non suspended turntable From Sumiko's webpage Massive 12lb. (5.4kg) sandwich construction acrylic platter virtually eliminated unwanted resonances.I can see why you need some help with dampening. Dgarretson's VPI runs around 60-70 lbs. Maybe that's a little better, but I...
What tonearms work with denon 103r? Yes, I should probably add that the Rega I used with the 103r had several mods, including the TWL tweak. I thought this cartridge sounded much better on a Basis Vector than the 2.2, and, I agree with ChosenHandle, even better on a Triplanar.
What tonearms work with denon 103r? Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. Have fun.
Suspended vs. non suspended turntable Here's my .02. Get the best table, arm and phono stage you can for now. You can always add a better platform and cartridge latter. If you're handy you can easily build a decent RCM for less than $100.Maybe break it down to 14K for table and phono ...
What tonearms work with denon 103r? Stringreen, you and Raul should get along fine. :-)I can disprove what you've said about poor dynamics and limited bandwidth within 10 minutes of listening to my stock 103r. But it is more than just having the cartridge attached to a good arm. The...
What tonearms work with denon 103r? I was never satisfied with the 103r and the 2.2. Even a Rega RB300 worked better with the 103r. The 103r will sound much better on an arm that can control it better. For me the 2.2 seemed to work better with more compliant cartridges.
What is the ideal weight/mass for a turntable? I don't know if there is an "ideal" weight. But if there is one it is significantly more than the weight of your P9. ;-) Just kidding, slightly.
Blue Note 45rpm reissue Thanks Rushton,I had read that but didn't really know what the mono distribution was within the series.
Blue Note 45rpm reissue Thanks Davt! I signed up while the wife wasn't looking. No biggy, she'll be happy I'm not spending mega-bucks on equipment this time. :-)The mono vs. stereo "issue" is addressed on the website. It doesn't matter much to me but may provide an excus... |
