PS Audio PWD MkII vs W4S DAC2
My PWD came with 2.4.3 installed; a perusal of the PS Audio forums showed pretty good consensus that people were happy with the sound of it relative to the other firmware versions.
New Pangea Audio AC-14 XL Power Cord
I am looking forward to hearing about this, too.
My most memorable ROCK moment
New Year's Eve, 1999>2000. Phish held a festival for 80,000 on a Seminole reservation in the Everglades. The band played Auld Lang Syne at midnight, and kept going until the sun came up at 7:15. No breaks.I was never the same.
DAC upgrade assistance needed
See if you can find a PS Audio PWD MkII on clearance (check Underwood HiFi). You will not ever be disappointed.
PS Audio PWD MkII vs W4S DAC2
Kng, for budgetary reasons I'm going to stick with my Squeezebox Touch until it goes belly-up. Then I'll go for the bridge or whatever updated version of it might be available. I expect the bridge will sound better than my SBT due to the extra dig...
PS Audio PWD MkII vs W4S DAC2
I lived happily with a DAC2 for the last two years. It replaced a Benchmark DAC1 HDR, which I could I found unforgivably sterile, anylytical, and dry. The DAC2 had plenty of resolution, and added meat to the Benchmark's bones. Over time, though, I...
DAC with ESS Sabre chip, volume, XLR+RCA simult.
Wyred4Sound DAC1 or DAC2 will fit that bill.
Power Cords: A Skeptic Looking to Dabble...
I was early in my sound journey when a mentor said to me: Go out and get the cheapest audiophile power cord you can find, and put it on your amp. I was skeptical, but ordered a Pangea AC-7.As soon I connected it and turned on the system, I thought...
Elvis Presley's Albums - Recommendations needed
Elvis is Back sounds pretty darn good. "Fever" (track 2) is a nice reference track.
Rush Live in 2013 - Clockwork Angels
Tostados, I'm a bit of a Phish head, and tend to be impressed with the sound at their arena shows. If you like the rock music, go seem them when they come near you.
Rush Live in 2013 - Clockwork Angels
I saw this tour in Charlotte from the 7th row, and the sound was terrible. Muddy, indistinct bass, lots of heavy, compressed guitar and a little drums. Great band, though, and great show. It was my first (my buddy is a Rush freak and splurged for ...
Cognitive Dissonance Theory – What Do You Think?
Here's the experimental example of Cognitive Dissonance that I remember from college: If you ask folks in a neighborhood to display a 3x6 foot sign in their yard to promote seat belt use, almost all of them say "No." If you ask a different sample ...
Best rock bass player
Yeah, Bach's feet are the Original Bass Player. And they rock.James Jamerson (and the Funk Brothers rhythm section that he anchored) played on more #1 hits than the Beatles, Stones, and Elvis combined. But since he didn't sing, nobody cares.
Best rock bass player
"Best" is indeed a vague way to ask the question, but here's what you need to know:1. J.S. Bach2. James Jamerson3. Paul McCartneyThere are others.
Say Hello to the Newb
