Genesis Stealth
So, let me get this straight: you want to RESURRECT your GENISIS amp??? Is that possible? Anyway, nice topic for Easter . . . Sorry, noting these silly coincidences is probably my only talent . . .
Let's forget about being politically correct
Well, after all that, how do y'all think this combo would sound: Cary Audio SLP-74 mated to a Musical Fidelity A3cr power amp? I'm thinking about trying this. My speakers are Soliloquy 5.3s.
Anybody stop using power conditioning?
Drubin: What made you decide to get rid of those conditioners? Did you end up buying a certain piece of equipment that obviated the need for conditioning?
"Best" cable elevators?
Tireguy: You're a genius--and my new vice prez. Email me!
Loud and Live
John Coltrane's "Live in Paris." Blue Valse is hugely intense!
"Best" cable elevators?
I plan to make some using 8" sections of 4x4 pine. Next, I will sell them for an astronomically high price. Finally, I'll come out with an MK-2 version that will be so advanced, you couldn't possibly listen to your system w/o them, rendering the o...
Upbeat music suggestions?
Oingo Boingo: Dead Man's Party.
unico with nht 2.5i's
Just out of curiosity, is it advisable to leave this amp on 24/7? I keep my ss on all of the time, but what about the tube life for the preamp section of the Unico? Is there a standby switch or something?
That's what it's all about.............
One time I bought a Buddy Guy/Junior Wells cd--or at least that's who it was labled. What I ended up with was a Melvin Taylor CD. It took me years to figure out who it was! I think that the Evidence lable has since been a little better at quality ...
Found an interesting way to compare IC cables...
Here's a thought: Since your are using headphones, why not swap out only ONE of the pair of IC's you're comparing; that is, swap out brand a's red wire for band b's red wire while leaving brand a's black wire in place. I don't know what it might t...
Live Jazz Trio Recordings
Drubin: Thanks for reminding me of the title; "State of the Tenor." Love Joe's "Friday the 13th!"
Live Jazz Trio Recordings
You know, it doesn't have to be a piano trio. How about Joe Henderson with Al Foster and Ron Carter? I'm talking about the "Standards" recordings. Very hipological indeed! Oh yeah, and Sonny Rollins had a date like that--was it with Elvin Jones an...
Calling all indie rockers...
The Powerpuff Girls "Heroes and Villians." No, I'm serious! This stuff isn't for kids (not that it's inappropriate; it's "safe."). Selections come from bands like Biz, Dressy Bessy, Komeda, Devo, The Apples in Stereo, and others. It's a really fun...
Keith Jarrett recommendation
"Standards Vol 1" is a pretty hip recording. Jack DeJohnette and Gary Peacock are highly innovative throughtout.
I changed my mind.
Trips every 6 months to the audio shop? I sure hope not! Granted, my rig consists of a solid state set up, but my all-tube Marshall guitar amp gets tossed about a lot, and it seems to be in great shape. I'm not sure that I'd be all that worried ab...
