Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive?
Just got an AMAZING deal on a Benz E550. I was going to buy a second BMW, but couldn't pass up this deal. The Harmon Kardon sound is OK. Might see if I can upgrade it.

A nice single-malt is going very well today with Bettye LaVette
Best single-malt Scotch...
Heading off to Ireland in two weeks and was wondering what single-malt Irish whisky I might look for.
Bruce at The Super Bowl....
Pardon jumping across types of music and across the centuries...but, Dylan vs. Springsteen is a little like comparing Mozart to Beethoven. Both are great, but I prefer one over the other most days of the week.As it so happens, Dylan has a new albu...

Vinylmeister... nicely put! Methinks I'll pop a bottle of something red tonight.
Hawaii
Thanks, Jwrace. I see Hagerman posting here from time to time. If I'm in the market for new components, I'll definitely look him up. As for service, I'm still looking for a good shop.
Modern day female jazz recommendations

Songs about ecology
John Prine's "Paradise." How could I have forgotten that great song?! It's all about coal mining companies ravaging the landscape. Here's one verse in particular:Then the coal company came with the world's largest shovelAnd they tortured the timbe...
Songs about ecology
Dylan's "Hard Rain". This song has other geopolitical messages, but there is definitely an environmental component to it.
David Bromberg -- Any fans?
Used to see him regularly when I was in college. I still spin his LPs from time to time and wonder why I don't listen to them more often. What a phenomenal talent. He lived and worked in Chicago for a long time, building and refurbishing violins. ...
Favorite Telarc releases.....
Tierney Sutton...all of her Telarc discs. The engineers really captured the immediacy and subtelty of her voice.
Dylan Bootleg Number 8
I think it's fantastic. If you are listening to it as if it were a stand-alone release, then I can understand some of the hesitancy. Yet, it is worth the price simply for the opening version of Mississippi and for Red River Shore (both versions). ...

methinks you don't want to know, Jorge!I was listening to the new Dylan "Bootleg Series," which definitely calls for bourbon.
How international is your system?
That's quite a lineup, Mrjstark.... 7 countries and 4 continents.
