Best cd player under $600 used for system It's just a name. They have another line called FMJ, for "Full Metal Jacket." Dumb name, but great player! The cd players with the "T" designation have full text readout on the display. I don't know why you would necessary want it. As far as I'm aw...
Mozart Piano Concerto 21. I'm in a bit of a rush today, so I'm going to state unsubstantiated opinions for now (yeah, what else is new!?).Buxter:I agree with your peach analogy completely vis-a-vis Hahn.Yes, more of the US Serkin (I agree with the impression of sterility)....
Best Sax Jazz Seandtaylor...By "modern jazz," do you mean anything "since the 60s?" If so, that would toss out a good bit of John Coltrane, a good bit of Sonny Stitt....Last time I was in the Village, I went to Small's (you NYC inhabitants will know the place)....
Mozart Piano Concerto 21. Yes, that's exactly what I mean. I do NOT mean, however, that either of them are peerless; rather, of the "younger" generation, I think they are better than Hahn at this stage of her career (although Bell is starting to slip and his jazzy stuff is...
Here's a "must have" for you female vocalists fans Onhwy61, (BTW: is your moniker a Dylan tribute?)Thanks for that Norah Jones recording quality link! Fascinating reading!
Mozart Piano Concerto 21. Buxter,Some of us like Gilels because he played the MUSIC. He was relatively humble (although I've never met a musician who was truly humble, although George Harrison came close) and connected me to the music via him. Pletnev has the same ability,...
Mozart Piano Concerto 21. Tweekerman,Sorry to have taken so long to respond. Barenboim IS the conductor. It's annoying from two perspectives. First, he's trying to pay attention to two things at the same time. Second, the piano is situated so that he faces the orchestra an...

Best drink while listening to your rig? Really, Pops?! Never heard of it. If Booker has got it right, I'll have to give it a try. I like Bourbon neat, so winter is a good time for sipping/
Speakers that leave room to upgrade front-end Totems would be very nice (good suggestion, Dan). Having some options to consider, though, is ideal, even if you ultimately go with the Totems. So, you might look into some of the Axiom line or the smaller stand-mounted ATCs.
Any comments on the Immedia RPM-1 turntable There are several postings on the vinyl asylum about the Immedia. I suggest doing a search over there and then contacting some of the inmates who own, or have heard, the Immedia. One hell of a rig, I gather!
1950-2000: The Top 25 Singer/Songwriters And I thought it was your comment about "Silly Love Songs" bringing smiles to people that was an attempt at levity! Sorry, but that song has the opposite effect on me.
Used CDP under $1000? I agree with Marakanetz about the Theta. If you really want a one-box unit, you might be able to find a used Theta Miles for about $1000. Otherwise, Rotel 991ae, or a used Arcam. |
