Best Frank Zappa´s Recordings
With the recent passing of Gregory Peck, I can only nominate "The Adventures of Gregary Peccary."
5 best underrated or unknown bands and why?
Have to agree with Garebear about the Pousette Dart Band. Fantastic and underappreciated group. One that has not been mentioned, and that I'm listening to now, is Martin Stephenson. "Boat to Bolivia" is one of the greatest neurotic folk/rock albums...
Which artists do you just not get?
There is no music that I don't "get." It's all music. It's people that I don't get.Greatest, in my mind:Dylan (popular/rock)John Coltrane and Kenny Dorham (jazz)Other: Martin Stephenson and the Daintees
Music Reccommendations??
If you like Chicago blues, then Buddy Guy's hyper-electric "Sweet Tea" is amazing (you can clearly see where Jimmy Hendrix got his chops from). Buddy's latest is acoustic, and is just as "essential" listening."
Any fellow 'Heads out there?
Slipknot,I was there (Watkins Glen), too! So, that was you who... ;-)
Best drink while listening to your rig?
Ozfly...I bought a case of Benziger chard. that I like a lot. Used to drink Meridian until they got bought by Nestle. Not a good reason, I know! I do like Meridian though, for a reasonable chard. Summer's here and time to stock up on some....BTW: ...

Tried some California cab while listening last nigh: McManis 2001. A little rough, but will be great in a year. A nice chewy, tannin-laden wine that paired nicely, believe it or not, with Dylan.
Plinius 8200 MkII -- best integrated ss amp?
Only compared the Plinius (which I own...and won't part with) to the Audio Analogue Puccini SE. The Plinius blows it away, but can't speak for the Maestro.
Any fellow 'Heads out there?
Saw my first show in the early 70s and used to play the Dead (and Dylan) constantly. I still listen to Dylan A LOT, but haven't listened to the Dead in years! It's a nice sunny day here in suburban Chicago...might be a good time to dust off some D...
Phono Stage to replace Sonic Frontiers Phono 1
I agree 100% with Ljgj
Anyone have problems with Arcam digital gear
a nice bunch of happy Arcam owners here! Guess we don't need a support group!
Fairport Convention fans - help
Linkster: guilty as charged. Afraid to ask what my punishment might be! I'm not inclined to buy these other recordings, but I'll give them a listen if I come across them.
Richard Thompson??
Waltersalas: I haven't formed a solid opinion, either, of "Old Kit Bag." I was neutral about it after one listening, and have put it aside. I'm hoping it grows on me when I play it again this weekend.
CD and/or LP collections. Is it about the music?
Warren....I don't care if she reads this stuff. It will either make you look good by comparison, or reinforce her notion that ALL men are over the edge (just that some of us have fallen farther than others!).

I have a friend in England who sends me, ahem...cough... unofficial copies of those festival gigs. They're OK, but I agree with the gist of Patrickamory's question. There's no substitute for RT and Sandy Denny. Rather like the Dead without Jerry G...
