Best drink while listening to your rig?
Clipsal: great post! Wish we could get some of those Australian brews "up over," as it were! Do you listen to the Waifs at all? Friend from Melbourne sent me two CDs. Kind of like them, actually.
Considering HDCD players
Is there some reason not to stick with Arcam? Others in their line are HDCD players.

How international is your system?
Sad but true, Satch.
How do iso. cones work and what are the benefits?
So, no Daruma users here? If not, I get the "point," so to speak :-)

What about Darumas under the CDP, rather than cones? And 5lb or so of lead shot (or other weight) on top of it?

An aquaintance of mine was over on Saturday and I mentioned HDCD and the Joni Mitchell reissues on HDCD. He said that there is very little difference, other than the HD discs play louder. With volume matching, damn if he wasn't right. Joni's "Heji...
Need good speaker cable for modest system.
I agree about Gregg Straley's cables (which are cryo'd, by the way). They definitely are better than the AZ Matrix Reference that I have in my system. A much more open soundstage, better detail. And for the price, well, they're a steal!
Norah Jones on Bluenote??
For those of you who still are interested in this topic, there is something on this (along with a less than glowing review of Norah's new album) in the Feb. 2, 2004 issue of "Newsweek" (the one with John Kerry on the cover). To quote one passage fr...
Classic Records / Procol Harum
Thanks for the lead! Procol Harum is one of my all-time favorite rock groups.
Norah Jones on Bluenote??
I don't see how Norah Jones (as unremarkable as she is) affects the music of other jazz artists. The only thing that conceivably COULD happen is that the accountants start looking at the bottom line and start dumping less profitable artists. Now T...
