Underestimated, song, artist or group '' gems'' ?
If I can add two more:Tom Ovans (US singer/songwriter with great lyrics and a voice that sounds like.... well.... a combination of Dylan, Waits, and Leonard Cohen)Martin Stephenson and the Daintees.... fantastic folky/bluesy. Really hard to catego...

I have not heard the new material, being stuck in the dark ages of Full House, Unhalfbricking, Leige and Lief, etc. I'll definitely give one of the newer releases a listen. Thanks for the rec

Linkster... have you heard any of the Fairport remasters?

Yes, I am talking about "Love, Devotion, Surrender." It's great on vinyl, if you can find it!

For rock: Procol Harum. For more folk/rock/pop, I agree with Lugnut about Karla Bonoff. I'd add Richard Thompson to the list. For classical: the Korean soprano, Sumi Jo, is out of this world.
Calling all acoustic guitar fans...
Mijknarf: Acoustic guitar sounds outstanding on my system, too. So do jazz and chamber music. It seems the "simpler" (it terms of ensemble size), the better.I disagree with one post saying that Leo Kottke was boring. Listen to his first album ("Si...
Best drink while listening to your rig?
Pops... thanks for the Plymouth recommendation. I'll keep a look out for it. I like gin with jazz, for some reason... maybe it's just the alliteration?
