I need help selling an item
If you bothered to go to Google or Bing, you would quickly see that a shop in Ann Arbor, called Paragon & Sound, does consignment sales.Echo HiFi is great, but Paragon is in your backyard AND is a great shop as well.
Best movie to see what your HT AUDIO will do.
My goto HT tests have always included Fantasia and 2001 a Space Odyssey. The "Night on Bald Mountain" in Fantasia will definitely let you know what your sound system can, or can't do. Ditto for Kubrick's film, which combines wide angle shots with ...
Have you gotten great sound in a small er room?
To Geoffkait's point...I put Klipschorns in the corners of the far 9' short wall of a 12 X 9 X 8 studio apt. and powered them with a Krell KSA-300S. When I played my Black Sabbath records at 78 speed, I saw God.
Help me pick a projector.
Don't forget to research the MTBF for the bulbs and to price the replacement bulbs. Ebay is covered with used projectors in "good working condition" that not coincidentally also need new bulbs. You can only guess why...
Best speakers for $1500 or less?
Another speaker to look at is the KEF LS50 Anniversary. Recently did a demo and the sound was impressive. If I decide to downsize my Media Room system (which doesn't have the real estate to support Maggies or Martin Logan's)I would likely pull the...
Magico S5 vs Tannoy Westminster Royal SE
Kiddman Wrote: I know of nobody who has heard my system that would pick either of those speakers over the Wests. Yes, MMDV (my mileage DOES vary!). Cool. Please share your pre/amp that's feeding your Westminsters so that we might learn from your e...
Magico S5 vs Tannoy Westminster Royal SE
I'm surprised that WAF hasn't come up more prominently. Having both seen and heard the Westminster Royal SE, all I can say is make sure your SO is on board. The Royal SEs are 55" X 39" X 22" and weigh over 300 pounds each. Not much different from ...
Burned out Audiophile - Trying to Find some Zen

13yr old speaker upgrade
If you like the sound of the DM604, include the B&W CM9 and CM10 on your shortlist. A pair of CM9s is right at your $3K price point, with the CM10s (as yet not released) ball-parking at $4K a pair. If you have the room to let them breathe, the...

Which Integrated amps should I audition?
As a condo dweller myself, I concur with Elizabeth. Get a good sense of your "New" environment first. This includes determining how well your walls are insulated, and the quality of your internal wiring and circuit panel. You said you were moving ...
Is it just me?

Speakers with fullness and weight?

What the best 89-90 db speaker I can buy for 3k?
If you like the B&W house sound, new CM9s or used 805Ds are right at your $3K price point. I picked up a clean used pair of 805Ds and they work great with classical and jazz. Not the ultimate in bass, but the bass is still surprisingly good.
