What's Your Favorite Party Music?
i start out with lou reed, "songs for drella" or "death and transfiguration," then move on to the soundtrack from "until the end of the world." when everyone's in the proper mood, i switch over to modern classical stuff, preferring works by john c...

tim: you, of all the denizens of this pub, should know perfectly well what "ballsy" means. and sounds like. you certainly weren't kidding about your cinematic career, were you? were you? say it ain't so, you offspring of bibendum. -cfb

Difference between Accuphase A50 and A50v?
bwhite: there is a very large difference between the a-50 and a-50v. the cicuitry and topology of the a-50v was changed to allow the amp to drive loads as low as 1 ohm. sonically, the a-50v is more ballsy than the a-50. FWIW, the a-50 was not prod...
speakers rewiring
alfred: i think it's very dangerous to buy off-the-shelf wire from ANY source to rewire the innards of your speakers. you may end up with much worse sound than now emanates from your boxes. decently-designed speakers are voiced with internal wirin...

thomasheisig: unless you've heard, and seen, the latest version of the CMR and tq arm, your statements as to their reliability and utility are dated and no longer valid. and, i've no idea where you get your information on the insider. the markup i...

Help/Major Problem
david: i'm truly glad you have your music back. i know how important it is to you. my guess about a blown fuse was prompted by the coincidence of my having dropped in at my audio dealer/close friend's place yesterday and meeting another customer w...
Help/Major Problem
david: the fuse from your dynaco may not be the same as that removed from your rouge; i.e., the rouge fuse, tho the same value, may not be of the "slow blow" variety. i'd check with your dealer or rouge tomorrow to be sure. meantime, enjoy the mus...
Help/Major Problem
david: have you checked ALL fuses, including any internal rail or input varieties? (don't really know what your rouge or pass have for "protection.") if all else fails, PANIC, take a couple of ludes and see what tomorrow brings. -kelly
