Up to $4000US tower speakers for Jazz and Classical Music @jcatdcat Hope you did not think I was suggesting the Moabs are out of his budget. I was referring to suggestions that are thousands beyond his upper limit. Your suggestion of the Moabs, from everything I have read, is excellent and I am su...
Mirage M1 Speakers. Agree with the above. Had a pair of M-5si and they were driven beautifully by a Rotel 990 power amp. Hard to believe a pair of 6.5" woofers could soak up all the juice the 990's put out. Great combo.
Anyone get or buy themselves a Father's Day present yet? As much as I love music, I just had the best gift any Dad could want. My daughter came home to visit this weekend. After dinner, we went out and spent the evening fishing. A perfect summer eve in West Michigan. Clear blue sky, gentle swirling ...
Up to $4000US tower speakers for Jazz and Classical Music Doesn't anyone read what the OP wrote! He likes his amp. He listed a budget. He does NOT want subs.
Marantz Ruby PM KI amp vs Accuphase e-480 or e-380 @hgeifman I have never much discriminated of amplifier class. There are good and bad examples of all types. The Ruby is clearly part of the Marantz Reference Series. It is voiced to be smooth with a hint of warmth like all of the Marantz inte...
Marantz Ruby PM KI amp vs Accuphase e-480 or e-380 @russ69 The transformer and caps you note ONLY power the preamp section. It is a class D design and superior to their prior class AB amp designs. The amp has its own switching power supply. The sound is excellent and the power delivered into ...
Up to $4000US tower speakers for Jazz and Classical Music The Tekton Electron SE's have what you are looking for. They have the "open, airy, detailed" qualities you are looking for yet have a very potent low end for full scale orchestral works. Dual 8" SB Acoustic woofers/ported design can move plenty ...

Warm Tube Amp(s) to Tame Hyper-Accurate Speakers? I may have said this before but if you are not fond of steak, no amount of seasoning or preparation work is likely to change that fact. So it is with a speaker. If your speakers are restricting what music you listen to, something is fundamentall...
An Objective Review of the Tekton Double Impact Speakers The percentage of useful threads on this site has drifted down to about 10% thanks to the likes of tsushima1 and others. "Aw bless" followed by some inane emogi. What a sad example of humanity.
Why is used audio equipment so undesirable? Buying used used to go against my grain. Not anymore. Buy wisely. Take care of the piece. Sell it for what you payed for it. It's a great way to play for nearly free.
Crutchfield Customer Service I can give Crutchfield a thumbs up as well for three reasons: 1-Excellent customer service. Only needed it once but they came through. 2-Superior packaging. They double box with peanuts. 3-They used to have a full credit trade up program whic...
Cheers and a big "thank you" to Lenbrook. Distributor of Dali and others. Glad to hear it. But you know it's actually very sad when we get excited that someone just did what they were supposed to do--honor their warranty. Sad commentary on the times in which we live. Don't get me wrong--it's good you posted. Companie...
Looking for an integrated amp to replace my Cayin A-50T Did you notice how many posts do not describe the sound quality of their recommendations? |
