Advice and recommendations needed for a turntable rig...
That Pioneer table looks like a great way to go.  A 32# table for $700!  Looks like a bargain.  I have the Project X2 in a headphone based system.  It's a beautiful table to be sure with a nice tonearm.  I'm very pleased with it.  But that Pioneer...
Dog pissed on speaker
Leave the speaker driver alone.  You will do more harm than good trying to remove the urine. Dog urine is has a significant mineral load.  This will change the Fs of that driver. If you want to preserve your stereo image, have him urinate on the ...
For the love of...kits?
@hilde45 I have not built any of the Analog Ethos kits but would not hesitate one moment to go with one of these kits.  The el34b kit (upgraded version) would be my first pick. Very reasonable cost. Great customer support.  I think this would pair...
Better cd SQ
You really need to state how you feel your current CD player is lacking.  What exactly is missing??  You can change the sound in many directions but without knowing what you are looking for suggestions become random reflecting what a given member ...
For the love of...kits?
As a budding audiophile, Dynakits and then Hafler kits were a great way to up the game with limited funds.   @hilde45  Not long ago I was at the Akitika site looking at their offerings.  I have no doubt this would be a fun build and am sure it wo...
Classical Record Collection Needs New Home
Thanks for posting.  Hope these all find a home as it would be a shame to see these go to waste.  Agree with gregm, post this on multiple sites.  There certainly are collectors out there who would want these--just a matter of finding them.
Acceptable to ask seller for option to return a component?
Do your homework before you buy.  If you don't like it, resell it at little to no loss.
Are there other people like me ? Amazed by their low cost system :)
I have always felt the 90th percentile is a very good place to live life and the things you enjoy. The last 10% can drive you crazy.
Omega speakers in, '50s mono Jazz out.
Yes, the lack of a crossover and decent sensitivity/impedance curve allows these low powered amps to shine and do what they do best.
Burn your power cables in PROPERLY with Haglabs Frycorder
Give the OP a break.  Who are you to refute what he heard?   I am neutral on this one but nothing useful is gained by mocking and disparaging others on this site.
Which Vintage CD Player To Use As A Transport?
I would never suggest buying a vintage CD player for use as a transport.  What breaks down in CD players? It's the transport.  Just doesn't make sense.  Why would you want a high mileage transport?
Minimum Power Needed to Drive Klipsch Cornwall IVs? - Considering Erhard_Audio Ray
@katokaelin   Obviously many diverse opinions here.  One qualifier to my prior comments.  The system I use the Ray in, with my significantly less efficient speakers, provided plenty of juice for all of the music I used that system for BUT when I h...
Flexible Power Cords
Highly suggest Supra Lorad 2.5 if you are into DIY.  Super flexible, affordable, high performance cable. Custom make all your cables to the exact size you want.
Minimum Power Needed to Drive Klipsch Cornwall IVs? - Considering Erhard_Audio Ray
I have the Ray in a secondary system driving Omega monitors in a larger room and it has plenty of punch. I never felt it lacking in wattage or limited in that regard.   I use the built in passive pre and have done some upgrades with Miflex coupli...
Seeking Budget CD Player Suggestions
As above.  The actual mechanical transport/laser can be very affordable if you are into DIY (do not know about the McIntosh unit but Marantz/Denon traverse units are not too difficult to replace) -----if you can locate a source.  One would hope a ...
