Anyone have experience with Running Springs Audio
I use a PS Audio P300 for my sources and will continue to do so. However, I did some additonal research on this subject and decided I am going to buy the Haley for my amp. I currently use a Chang Lightspeed for the amp, but have been impressed wit...
What is needed to have the best CD/Digital sound?
I'm a tube person and until recently I believed a tube CDP/DAC was the way to go. Now after hearing and buying a solid state CDP used as a transport into a non-os DAC I've changed my mind. I still believe tubes are critical at the pre-amp and amp ...
TRL 595-how good is it?
Jes45,Well said Jack. While I am sure APL turns out some fine products, a couple of which I was intent on hearing, this whole campaign of theirs has left a bad taste in my mouth. Regardless of how well engineered their products are, I would have a...
What's the "worst" cdp for the money?
I'm not sure that what I'll be saying here is what I perceive to be the worst player for the money, but rather the least value for the price that I auditioned when I ugraded my digital components. Based on previous responses I will add a disclaime...
Anybody could advise cables for my system.........
My recent upgrade of interconnects and speaker cable resulted in Nordost Red Dawn interconnects and Alpha Core Goertz MI-2 Veracity speaker cables. It was a close call between the Goertz and the Speltz Anti-Cables. Both are exceptional deals.
Tube Amp For Mid/Hi
Look into the Cary V12 or V12i. They are around 2k used. Runs triode (50w), ultralinear (100w) and two-thirds triode. I can get mine pretty loud if I want to. You can also swap the EL-34s for KT-88s and play with the sound that way. Has a high inp...
Benchmark DAC-1 vs. Bel Canto DAC-2
Before I decided to purchase a non-os DAC (Audio Mirror at half the price and twice the performance of either of these) the Benchmark was my choice and I did listen to the Bel Canto as well. The Benchmark was smoother in many respects and I got to...
Are most DAC's compatible w computers?
Perhaps this is getting off the topic, but all I want to accomplish is sending WAV or FLAC files from my computer to my Alesis ML9600 HD. I download a lot of digital soundboards and instead of burning them to a CD then playing or uploading them on...
WBT vs Eichmann
I purchased the WBT Nextgen connector with the VH Audio Pulsar digital cable and it exhibits no brittleness at all. I do agree that the ease-of-use of WBTs leaves something to be desired, but I'll live with it for now.
Dedicate Cd player help
You should check out the TRL Sony 595. For about $700 you'll get a very musical CD. Check out the thread about it here and the 6moons review.
Warmest solid-state integrated for under $2k
The Vincent line is available in the states, but not extensively. I know that Audio Unlimited in Denver, CO carries the line and they are high on them considering the price. I have done business with this dealer when I lived in Denver so I can vou...
TRL 595-how good is it?
711smilin,I cannot proclaim to be an expert on the TRL Sony 595 because I do not own one. However, your claims that TRL uses fairy paste might be a bit exaggerated don't you think?I had extensive conversations with Paul about the mods done to my A...
Cary Preamps
Linnlp12,What brand of teflon caps did you install? Also, what tubes are you using?
Cary Preamps
I second the SLP-98. I just bought one and have had no problems with it. I own a few Cary components and find them to be high quality. The suggestion for AES is a good one. Also, these are rare, but the N.E.W. P-3 is a consideration. I traded mine...
TRL Marantz Sa-14
audioezra,The Alesis ML9600 is humming along and gets better every day. Thanks so much for providing me the opportunity to own one of the best products I have ever purchased and introducing me to the TRL family. I am planning on having Paul mod my...
