Advice needed please. My search for a digital upgrade led me to the separates route. I tried a number of CDPs, all of them good, but none of them captured my attention enough. Ultimately I bought into the non-over/upsampling filterless design concept which are used in ...
need help to mod a cd player. TRL is known for high value mods at a reasonable cost - $550 per unit. They work on lots of different CDPs including Sony. Email or call Paul Weitzel and he will tell you if what you have is worth modifiying and if so, what improvements you can ex...
Reliability of Cary Audio Products I have owned a number of Cary products (new and used) since 1996. I have never had a problem requiring service with any of them. Not even a blown fuse.

Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2005 I thought the Modwright room had an excellent set-up. As did the Exemplar room, but mainly due to the analog set-up featuring the Galibier TT. I also enjoyed listening in the Herron room.

New cart, step-up or ??? Swampwalker,It's amazing I did not see this thread sooner. I have a Hagerman Trumpet that I am using with a LA-100 mkIII. I also have a SOTA Nova Series V and a Benz M2 cartridge on a Kuzma Stogi tonearm. I just got the K and K Lundahl step-up whi...

TRL Marantz Sa-14 Breaking the cycle is a good idea. That is how I am breaking in my TRL modded DAC. I usually run it 48 hours, then shut it down a day, then start the cycle over again. It should take about a month to fully break in this way.
Demagnatizing a ZYX Cartridge For what it is worth I was at the RAMF and attended a seminar by Wally Malewicz. He recommended passive demagnetizing tools such as Cardas, but was against active demagnetizing tools (I specifically asked him about the Benz Aethetix). Wally does n...
Isolation Devices, Something to put on top of unit Jack,The HRS plates work really well on top of my Spendor's. I use 2 of the 4.5 x 5.5 plates on each speaker, spaced about an inch apart. I also use one of the medium plates on the top of my preamp power supply, which then sits on 3 of those rubbe... |
