Which brand of 45 tubes do you use? If you are interested in Berning amps then contact Linear Tube Audio. They manufacture amps based on the Berning ZOTL technology. Their ZOTL10 should work very well with your speakers and the price is just a tad over $3k. I have owned both the Atm...
I sure miss my Quad ‘57s! I can’t say whether the rebuilders get more bass and treble from the speaker, but there have been improvements to the power supply and the Zener clamp boards allow you to use a wider selection of amps without the fear of arcing the panels. As prev...
What do you use to edit music metadata info I use Metadatics as well. Very easy to use.
End-Game RCM thoughts/advice Having owned a VPI for quite a long time I moved to a DIY ultrasonic machine, the tried my friends Kirmuss. After it was all said and done I bit the bullet and got the Degritter. No looking back.
Futterman. Jump in? Or, not so fast... I will look for them but recently I saw the hand typed instructions Julius provided for making adjustments to the H3. This was one of the areas where Roger simplified the design, using a 6 position switch and meter so one could easily take reading...
Futterman. Jump in? Or, not so fast... @markusthenaimnut - you can email us at tubeaudiostore@gmail.com and provide us with the relevant information. If your amp uses the 6FL6 we have plenty. We have some of the PL tubes as well.Of the two H3s we bought, one was made by Harvard and the...
Futterman. Jump in? Or, not so fast... Yes we have some of the tubes for the Futterman amps. We need to know the specific tubes and amp so we can check the inventory. Prior to his passing Roger designed a new OTL circuit based on Futterman's work. There was a point in the prototype dev...
Any “value” competitor streamers vs Bluesound Node 2i? I've been looking at upgrading myself but after continually checking out some of these new streamers I always come back to the Auralic Aries LE I have been using for the past 5 or so years.
Do old Acoustats compete with new 'stats or dynamics I have a pair of Model 2s that came with the interfaces but I modified them to work with a pair of the Acoustat servo amps I picked up. I also modified the panels to achieve greater dispersion. The sound fine on their own, but subs do improve thin...
Active or passive? As to why there aren’t more active speakers available, I think it’s due to the flexibility of picking your own amp at your comfortable price point and also being able to upgrade in the future. So you have both flexibility of sound characteristics ...
Need 20 - 25 foot spk cables. I would stick with the coaxial. Go on eBay and search for OCOS cable. I have used it in the past for long runs. Not expensive either.
Tube amp forethought @bdp24 that was a good score on the amp. It looked really clean. FWIW Roger uses the 8 ohm taps with his RM-10 but as he would tell you, try it both ways and use the tap you like best.
Hornshoppe "the Truth" preamp - any opinions? I purchased this preamp back in 2010 or 2011. I liked it quite a bit using it with a Transcendent OTL. Alas haven't used it in years. Probably need to pass it on to someone that can use it more than me.

Things that make you go, "Hmmmmm...." Cary 308T, Revox B226-S, and Studer A727 still fetch pretty good money on the used market. |
