Quality CD Recorder with Analog inputs, suggestion Unless I'm mistaken about the source of the 24/96 recording made for me by TRL that played fine on my North Star/Monarchy M24 set-up (which supported 24/96), I don't see why not. To verify, here is a link to the Alesis manual:http://www.alesis.com...
Quality CD Recorder with Analog inputs, suggestion With the Alesis you can copy to the HD then burn a disc. You can play the 24/96 recordings on DVD players, assuming they play CDRs. Jkaway - the Alesis has a lot of feature functions, including parametric EQ, and can be used to mix/master recordings.
Quality CD Recorder with Analog inputs, suggestion Agreed on the Alesis Masterlink. I had one that was modified by Paul Weitzel at TRL (he uses one for two-channel recordings and mixes) and I believe BPT also offers mods for the unit.
Stand out phono stages I mentioned it early on in the thread, but it certainly deserves a second mention.
High level MC or step up? K&K Audio makes a very nice SUT. I believe it is $325 assembled. It can be configured for different gain levels and has the ability to allow you to swap resistors for proper cartridge loading without soldering. I used to own one and used it wi...
Why sound is not balanced? In my system, I did try swapping transports (then other components), but no improvement. While I have the window on the wall where the left channel speaker is placed, there are also two openings on the wall where the right channel speaker is place...
Have You Heard the Northstar CD Combo? My combo has no trouble reading CDs, CDRs, etc. You can select the input on the front panel. There are 4 options: 2 coaxial RCA, 1 toslink, and 1 I2S.
Why sound is not balanced? I also recommend Pzuckerman's suggestion as I have a similar problem. I did the same tests and afterwards concluded it must be the room. Now my room is 18.5 x 15.5 and it is pretty rectangular, but unfortunately I have a huge window on one wall wh...

Question on Benz Trade-Ins The Benz trade in program was very good to me. It allowed me to move up the chain from a Glider to eventually an L2. However, I sold that L2 as part of a complete analog package and when I bought my new set-up went to a Dynavector. I haven't looke...
Review: Mosaic Chimera Speaker cable As mentioned in rlawry's review/post I kept the Chimera speaker cables and two pairs of the Chimera ICs.
Review: Intuitive Design Mosaic Chimera Reference Speaker cable I had meant to update mdhoover's review but since this one is more recent I'll do it here. I too tried the Chimera cables. Dale first sent me the standard Chimera speaker cables that I was very impressed with. Then he sent me two power cords (one ...

Passive Preamps w/ Transformer Volume Control Hmmmm...I guess a picture is worth a thousand words in this case. I can't picture what this might look like, but it sounds as if I have two choices: use the pigtails or add another set of ICs (my preference) in the chain. |
