How important is EMI and RFI rejection?
Powder, I'd be interested in learning more. Feel free to email me offline to describe what you are doing.I have a couple of components where the manufacturer does not have the ground connected at the IEC inside the components. Says it is a huge so...

Moving the speakers a bit closer together is another good suggestion. I also do not use an equilateral triangle for my set-up. My speakers are 4.75' apart and my listening position is 5.5' away. You can play around with percentages, but usually ma...

This is because the other goal of good grounding is to shunt excess energy away from the system. In a floating system, there is no where for the excess energy to go. This can still be fixed with a five cent capacitor.Danmyers (System | Answers)Dan...

Go over to Audio Asylum. Do a search there. He's posted his views many times. Ayre uses double insulated chassis' in their design so you can float the ground without the danger (according to Ayre anyway). Charles also lives in an old home where no...

I don't doubt the Tripoint is better. I know Miguel and he has been playing around with grounding schemes for a while. I don't doubt he is on to something with the Tripoint. However, not everyone can drop $8k on such a device. As Danmyers said you...

One other thing. If you do decide to play with the toe-in (or wall to speaker distance for that matter), try making your movements in 1/8" increments. You'd be surprised how much difference there can be in such small movements.

Sorry Musicfile, I should have paid more attention. Guess I was ogling those Sason's a bit too much to read further :)That being said I agree with Bobby P. Even though the manufacturer of my speakers recommends significant toe-in (45 degrees) so t...

Trading the Sason's for Omni's is not worth it IMO. Try working with the room and speaker placement. What are the dimensions of your room? How close is the listening position to the back wall? How far out from the front wall are your speakers? My r...
Great sounding smallish DAC, balanced output, $3K
There is a Northstar Extremo listed on Audiogon right now for $2500.
Scheu Table - Need some help.... anyone with time
Send me pictures if you like and I'll see if I can help. Where are you located? In addition to Tom Hills you could try the folks over at Audio Advancements or perhaps Dr. Chris Feickert. All are very familiar with thee tables.
Wi-Fi Fidelity?
WiFi is everywhere as are cell phone and microwave frequencies. They really can't be avoided (unless you're remotely isolated enough which is a possibility). I respect Charles Hansen and his opinions but this one is reaching a bit IMO.For me the p...
small footprint balanced pre-amp
I don't hear any treble roll off with the Capri in my system. Not sure what the definition of romantic might be, but I do know that the Capri is a musical preamp without sacrificing detail. The break in is a bit long and can result in some "mood" ...
XLR interconnects?
Alpha Core and Mogami mediocre studio cable wire? Not in my system. Alpha Core TQ series is a nice cable in your budget and there is a trial period so there is no risk.
Weird Speaker Placement Configurations
Yes in most cases you will get unequal distances. This is pointed out in the Decware white paper. The only scenario I can think of where this might not happen is in a square room. However, the white paper also shows you the effects of the reflectio...
