Best Transport under $2500 The two that I've used are the Northstar 192 and CEC TL-51X. Both are very good. Another one that I'd consider is the 47 Labs Shigaraki.
Looking for a good speaker cable for tube amps. Grover Huffman - $75/per foot for a quad pair with a home trial.Supra Sword would be another to consider at a higher cost.
Loud POP Hard to say which component it might be. Does the pop occur when you turn the amp on and all other components are off? If not, can you swap out the preamp for another to isolate the problem?
Speaker Technology over the last 10 years Mrtennis,I live in Las Vegas. You may want to call Duke Lejeune and see if he has any customers in your area. Also, since you do audio reviews maybe Duke would be interested in having you review a pair. I suppose it couldn't hurt to ask. Otherwise...

What power cord should I get for my front end? Look for a used Oyaide Tunami GPX or a VH Audio Flavor 4 (actually you can get a new one in your budget). I've had both on digital sources and they are excellent values for the money.

Powercords for Canary Monoblock Preamplifiers Just an additional note. The Tel Wire I recommended works best on preamp and source components. There is have a High Current version for amps that is another $100 in cost. The Flavor 4 and Tunami GPX would work well on all components.
Powercords for Canary Monoblock Preamplifiers If you can budget $599 the Tel Wire power cords would be worth looking into. I believe they come with a trial period so little to lose. Otherwise under your budget I've always liked the Oyaide Tunami GPX and VH Audio Flavor 4.
CEC Transport....Which one? I use the TL-51X which is $800 - $1000 used. I think there are a couple for sale here now.Nick Gowan at True Sound in Northern CA is an authorized CEC service tech. RAM Technologies has some CEC mods you might be interested in looking at, but don'...
Loudspeakers with a wide sweet spot Audiokinesis speakers offer a wide sweet spot if you have enough space to set them up in your room and use the recommemded 45 degree toe-in so the signas cross about 2' in front of of the listening position. Both the Jazz Modules and Dream Makers ...

24 bit/44.1? Interesting that you mentioned the Monarchy DAC. Here is a review from Lynn Olson that explains some of the benefits of using 20 bit versus 16 bit, at least in this implementation:http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue25/monarchy_m24.htmsome inter...
Which wood and design for diy monitor stands? I don't know which look better, the Spendor's or the stands they are sitting on.As for the wood being solid all the way up I can't say, but FWIW, using a hollow center post allows you to fill it with some materials that could provide better mass a... |
