shibata or microline, pls respond ONLY if you specifically have tried both. lewm7,338 posts11-22-2019 2:03pm If you have a pivoted tonearm with headshell offset, and if you then alter azimuth by rotating the arm wand back near the pivot (BEFORE the headshell offset angle is introduced), then the headshell itself not only...
shibata or microline, pls respond ONLY if you specifically have tried both. lewm... If you rotate the whole tonearm back near the pivot, you are not only changing azimuth; you are also changing zenith (too complicated for me to explain here). My Triplanar is guilty of that minor sin; azimuth is adjusted by rotating the a...
Tracking Matters Most mijostynI can only half warm up to Mr Ledermann. I like a lot of his arguments but his office is a pig sty which makes me very suspicious of the quality of his work ... In the end none of his marketing has moved me to try one of his cartridges. Ap...
Jazz for aficionados prysoHere’s a hot horn section. But please, disregard those suits! ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Cst9lV5PPgThat’s a brilliant arrangement. The music is timeless, so the suits don’t matter.
Tracking Matters Most millercarbon... Usually people who aren't engineers and therefore don't know what they're talking about tell us ...Whoa, that's quite a logical fallacy there! Not all engineers "know what they are talking about." Not all those who are not engi...
Analog room correction for vinyl mijostyn... you have not had more than trivial exposure to more than the most basic room control systems/programs. It does not matter what the source is ... You can not get the best imaging without this and there is no other way to do this .....
To Float or not to Float... linndec... if you have a ground loop "buzzing" noise lift the earth on the pre amp as interconnects can more than likely handle that current going back to earth. This is bad advice and potentially unsafe. Interconnects aren’t designed to handle th...
New Omega E Mat from Perfect Path Technologies viber6OK, the music sounds better to some users, but exactly what distortion is being reduced? ... With no technical information available, this is all speculation. Not really. When a user reports what he hears, that's observation, not speculat...
Turntable adjustment VTF scales on many pickup arms are not even remotely reliable. I suggest you use a dedicated gauge to confirm your VTF. It needn’t be expensive - even the little Shure gauge is quite good. What you describe could very well be a VTF issue.
Turntable adjustment hawk28 The arm does not provide for any sort of balancing of weight. Are you sure?It does however, have an adjustment for VTF, which I checked.Did you check it with a separate VTF scale, or are you relying on the scale that's part of the arm?
Do speaker cables need a burn in period? atdavidI think we are adults here ...You’re still new here, so you can easily be forgiven for this notion.
Audioquest vs. Others ieales... AQ is an egregious fraud.Wow, you think Audioquest is not just a fraud, but an egregious fraud? Perhaps you should alert the authorities if you truly believe that.
Do speaker cables need a burn in period? Economics in Eight Words: There ain't no such thing as free lunch.
Mcintosh MCD1100 I'd keep the Mac unless you've had serious issues with it. It should be readily serviceable and if you want to update it in any way, you could try using a more modern outboard DAC.
Turntable adjustment Did you rebalance the arm and then set the proper VTF for the Grado?? |
