Is this the solution to LP static issues?? Seems to be! daveyf What's a clean record? To some, it is one cleaned with, ahem, break fluid ...It is odd that the one guy here who cleans LPs with brake fluid insists he doesn't need a record cleaner. Maybe he's right!
Has anyone heard the SAT XD1 lewmDavey, I can’t agree with you that stratospheric product pricing such as we see with regard to SAT is going to ruin the hobby.I can’t possibly imagine how the presence of one high-priced product - or even 5, or 10, or 2,500 - could possibly de...
If Nordost won't shorten & terminate it's own speaker cables who can please? Thank you! tablejockeyOne thing Nordost will NOT do is shorten cables for convenience. If you purchased used cables that are too long, they will not shorten them. That's defensible if the cable was purchased used, although if it's true I don't think it's a go...
Is this the solution to LP static issues?? Seems to be! mijostynIf taken care of correctly a clean record should never get dirty other than incidental dust that can be easily removed with a brush or sweep arm.It is easy to show that this is mistaken - all that’s needed is a bright lamp, a clean record,...
Potential Ground Loop Problem (Help!) This doesn't sound like a ground loop at all, which would most likely manifest itself as hum. Rather, I think you're getting noise off your computer's motherboard. Using a PCI-e USB hub might solve the problem.
Opinion on Buena Vista social club CD? timoteo666I downloaded a copy from HDtracks and am disappointed in the sound quality. It seems rather flat ... Maybe it’s just another poorly mastered CD.This is confusing. Are you referring to the download or to the CD?
If Nordost won't shorten & terminate it's own speaker cables who can please? Thank you! daveyfNordost told me they cannot re-terminate my phono cable with a DIN connector. That’s rather odd.Did they mean "cannot" - perhaps because the connector can’t accommodate the thickness of your cable?Or did they simply mean they will not perform...
Is this the solution to LP static issues?? Seems to be! mijostyn... putting anything that leaves a residue on the records is a big mistake. It will only gum up your stylus.Absolutely agree! There is nothing like playing a pristine, clean LP. The goal is to have it free of any gunk. A clean record shoul...
Has anyone heard the SAT XD1 daveyfDo explain how my experience, your experience, or anyone’s experience with the table has anything to do with the asking price of this product?Sure. There is no substitute for experience. It’s that simple.Oh, I forgot, you are able to purchase...
Has anyone heard the SAT XD1 daveyf@cleeds Do point out where I am talking about the tonearm..vs. the table ...Oops, my mistake and I am sorry. I should have asked about your actual experience with the turntable. Please tell us about it.
Does Power Cord Require Burn-In To Sound Good? bakin63... a certain attack dog (trying to wear a bunny suit) attacked me in such an unrestrained and wanton manner, that the whole thread was removed ...That's not why threads are removed here, so please don't blame the moderators or someone y...
Multi Meter Tweak larry5729I wonder what most people in this hobby use, a multi meter or their ears?Logical fallacy of the "false choice." I think most of those who use a meter also listen. One helps confirm the other.
Has anyone heard the SAT XD1 daveyf... Here's the issue, that continually seems to be either a) misconceived or b) considered irrelevant.. and it's this: The price asked fails to live up to the tech, the complexity, the R&D required or any other parameter ...That's an...

Does Power Cord Require Burn-In To Sound Good? audio2design ... you will never be able to detect that change unless we are talking shielded/no shielded for a low level signal cable ...In the words of attdavid, robertcan, roberttdid and probably other of your usernames who have since been ... |
