D'agostino amplifiers: where's the beef?
"In the audio high-end world, amplifiers ands dacs are the most overpriced. Speakers less so."No.  Most of today's turntables are the most over-designed, bling-ridden components.  Utterly ridiculous and adding nothing except exotic materials and k...

hi georgehifiYou're right about the vdH Grail.Last year I auditioned nearly everything balanced in the £5k to £15k range.Grail was the best by a long road.  It has everything, accuracy, soundstage, realism. And it can be connected single-end or bal...

Speakers suggestion help
Hi millercarbonWhat $$$ do Tekton pay you for each sale?Your stylus is stuck in the groove, it's pretty boring for the rest of us reading the same stuff every 1.8 seconds. Are you intellectually capable of making a posting without mentioning Tekt...

Old vs New, an experience with Dynaudio.
We often find old classic pieces still cut it today. And there isn't much new in audio design that really moves the game on.  Many audio pieces contain a lot more irrelevant glitz, gimmicks and bling than a few decades ago.  Notably turntables.
Room size for hi end speakers. Too small??
16x12 is just fine.  The 7.5 ceiling may be a challenge though. But you don't say how it's furnished and whether surfaces are soft or hard.
Audio Research Sold
Change of ownership can direct change of direction. For ARC I hope not.I have had many ARC pieces.  Still use my SP10 in a secondary system.  This early two-piece pre remains iconic with lovely sound, perhaps a bit blossomy for current times. My mai...
What do you think of this power cord?
I think it will do an excellent job of getting the power from the wall to your equipment.

Hi audioquest4lifePirelli P Zero have always been homologated for the fastest Porsches.Dunlop have recently joined. That said, like you I favour the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup.At a recent Club trackday I counted more than 4 to 1 on Michelins and not ...
Tubes?
No way antigrunge.SETs will be crippled trying to run these Revels.I smell smoke.Don't go there.I recall Audio Research has built tube amps with 600w.  I see them used at £7,000-£8,000.  Lots of valves though.Dull to see millercarbon still peddlin...
My pet peeve: "revealing" speakers
'reveal' is a transitive verb. This speaker is revealing......what?Unless what is revealed is specified, the use of the term 'revealing' is meaningless.  So please stop.In the main there are only three groups of phenomena that might be revealed:1. ...
An Odd Question
Why not damp the strings when not being played?Just thread a felt strip between them. The bodies will still resonate though.  So get a Stratocaster.Or buy one of guitarsam's.  He doesn't like Fenders.  He knows everything about guitars 'n all.
Cerious technologies or audio envy
